Project Duration: Nov 2011 – Mar 2013
Project Description:
PLM: Consumer Lifestyle has per today 3 quite different decoupled ways of working with respect to product data management with related toolsets: Cemafore, Prodoc and Agile. Each tool set supports dedicated product data management processes tailored to the former business parts of CL.
CL moves from in-house to outsource business model for supply, consumer care and product development.
Product data moves outside the scope of the pure technical product data to support manufacturing. Product data should support supply, consumer care, regulation (e.g. FDA), compliancy (e.g. REACH, WEEE) and all related function supporting product development (e.g. product quality)
Consequences of changing business models raise questions as who owns and who use product data.
The scope of the project is divided in 3 categories as OOTB, Configuration and Customization on Project Master Data, Sales product & component master data (including interfaces)
CDIP: The Consumer data intelligence project should enable the BG- and local CRM management to see and understand the interaction the consumer has with the Philips channels like email, the website, and call center and potential other touch points were they leave crucial and relevant information. Information we need to offer the BG and CO to engage more effectively with a (potential) consumer in order to drive brand preference and conversion. This could mean that we send another email, or provide a triggered message when visiting our touch points. Environment: Informatica 7.1.3,Teradata, Oracle, Unix, Microstrategy and Test Director 8.2
Project Duration: Sep 2007 – Till Date
Project Description: The project involves testing of the EDW as per the CHANGE REQUESTS (CR).
The applications fall in to different domains like SCM, RETAIL, and MARKETTING & MERCHANDISE etc. with the concept of Data Warehousing being applied.
Two important parts are involved: ETL (Extraction, Transformation and Load) done through INFORMATICA and Reporting done through the Micro strategy (MSI) tool.
Testing is required from END to END from the Data being pulled from the SOURCE and taken to the LANDING ZONE to the Data being transformed, loaded in to the STAGING AREA and finally to the TARGET area with the MSI generating reports as per the RDD and the MASTER DOCUMENT.
The process of the flow data from the source to the target data warehouse can be explained as follows:
Source: The source is the actual source system where the data resides and the IT applications are hosted. For e.g. The Data actual data for SAL is maintained in AS 400 and all the IT applications for SAL are hosted on these AS 400 systems only. The data form these Source systems is converted to a flat file via a FTP process. This flat file then goes to the Landing Zone.
Landing Zone: Landing Zone is a Directory where data files from source systems are sent to the landing zone via FTP.
Staging Area: The staging area is in ORACLE and all the transformations take place in the Staging area according to the Business rules specified in the DIDS. The ETL tool Informatica is used to generate the mapping for the data to be loaded from the flat file coming out of the Landing Zone to the final Teradata data warehouse.
Data Warehouse: Teradata is the final data warehouse which will be loaded with the data form the oracle staging tables. This implies that the Data Warehouse for SVU is maintained by Teradata DBMS
