Member of workgroup established to improve the control of inpatient blood glucose
through a comprehensive assessment of problems, planning of interventions,
implementation of interventions, and evaluation of outcomes resulting from
interventions. Interventions included coordinating tray delivery times with insulin
administration times, increasing availability of glucose meters, providing cabinets for
insulin storage in patient rooms, establishing a nurse-driven hypoglycemia protocol,
and purchasing improved insulin syringes.
