Contract Project Mechanical Engineer reporting to the Director of Product Development. Assigned technical lead to research, develop and build a new Pressure Fryer Pot and Lid concept for the commercial foodservice equipment industry. The concept entailed using the fundamental principles of pneumatics, thermodynamics and mechanics to develop a compact pressure fryer that would meet the needs of industry leaders like McDonalds, Wendy’s, Chick-fil-a and KFC. The primary design tool was Siemens NX, Teamcenter and ANSYS.
General Dynamics (Sterling Height, MI) w/ Advanced Technologies 06/08 to 12/10 & 9/14 to 6/16
Contract Physical Architect reporting to the Engineering Manager for the Wheeled Vehicle and the Advanced Development Group responsible for design integration on the Stryker Modification (SMOD) and the Future Fighting Vehicle (FFV) projects. Responsible for concept design, integration and analysis of system installations within the vehicles using ProE Wildfire 4.0/Creo 2.0, Teamcenter, UG’s Vis Mockup and Catia’s Space Claim software.
Assigned to develop multiple 30 mm turret concepts for the Future Fighting Vehicle (FFV). The work included turret structural concepts, sub-system space claims and preliminary system integration of the 2-man, 1-man and remote vehicle turret system. Provided the CAD expertise with Creo 2.0/Teamcenter to assist the team during this phase.
Assigned Lead for the Design Integration and development of the Stryker Mobile Gun System (MGS) Production AC Unit Installation. Tasked with using spatial analysis tools to locate available space in the vehicle and develop a working model to represent the allocation of space for each of sub-systems within the AC Unit.
Assigned Lead to the MGS 7 project tasked to create a physical architectural space claim CAD model of the Stryker MGS vehicle, worked with all of the design teams to manage the design and integration of the systems.
NASA Kennedy Space Center (Cape Canaveral, FL) w/ SGT Inc 4/13 to 6/14
Mechanical Engineer VI reporting to the Engineering Manager for the Space Launch System (SLS) project. Provided engineering knowledge and CAD support for the design and implementation of Fluids & Propulsion Ground Support Equipment Systems at Kennedy Space Center (KSC) using Creo 2.0/Windchill, ProMechanica and ProMechanism.
Assigned to develop multiple structural designs for the Tail Service Mast Unit on the Space Launch System (SLS) Mobile Launcher (ML). The work included providing mechanical concepts, finite element analysis, detail drawings, GD&T and the CAD expertise with Creo 2.0/Windchill to assist the team with managing the design and system configurations during this developmental phase.

Contract Mechanical Engineer reporting to the Engineering Manager for the Medical Instrument R & D Department. Assigned several projects to resolve mechanical instrument failures during the development of the Simon Plus Bacterial Detection Instrument using ProE Wildfire 5.0/Windchill, ProMechanica, ProMechanism and GD&T.
Assigned Lead for design research and development of a robotic gripper system that automatically transferred 78 ml bottles throughout the detection instrument. Resolved complex failures with the tensioning mechanisms, robotic gripper motion and system door alignment. Worked with outside vendors to prototype new concept components.
ITW Food Equipment (Troy, OH) w/ Black Diamond Network 10/11 to 03/12
Contract Mechanical Engineer reporting to the Engineering Manager for the Weigh and Wrap Division. Assigned to work through many of the discovery phase mechanical design issues while defining the scope and core requirements for a new Deli Counter Scale. Primary design tool was ProE Wildfire 4.0/Windchill.
JBT Foodtech (Sandusky, OH) w/ Fischer Resources 01/11 to 09/11
Contract Mechanical Engineer reporting to the Engineering Project Manager for the Frigoscandia Gyrocompact Self-Stacking Spiral Freezer. Assigned to design various modules of the freezer including the stainless steel enclosure, various conveyor systems and a washer/raise system within the M-Series Freezer. Primary design tool was ProE Wildfire 2.0/IntraLink, ProSheetmetal module.
Thermo King (Minneapolis, MN) w/ Summit Technical Services 07/07 to 06/08
Contract Mechanical Engineer reporting to the Engineering Manager responsible for the design and development of a new self-powered truck refrigeration platform. Assigned various design, detail and analysis projects using ProE Wildfire 2.0/Windchill, ProCabling, ProSurface and ProSheetmetal modules.
Designed the mounting configuration using surfacing techniques for the fiberglass facade/covers on the family of A/C Units. Created numerous sheet metal mounting brackets, designed the pulleys/castings of the drive mechanism, designed the engine mounting bracket using GD&T, and completed all drawings and detail work.
BAE Systems (Minneapolis, MN) w/ Precision Resources Inc 02/06 to 06/07
Contract Mechanical Engineer for this DOD sub-contractor reporting to the Engineering Manager and the Manufacturing Manager. Assigned to various design projects using ProE Wildfire/Windchill and ANSYS for both the MK57 Vertical Launch System and the AGS EDM Gun System for the new DDG Navy Destroyer.
Designed, analyzed and detailed several systems for the MK57 VLS including two test fixtures/measuring devices to study the pressure failure points of two sealing systems, the structural mounting mechanism of the missile canister to the launcher structure, the weld tooling for the stationary gun housing for the AGS Gun System.
Toyota Motor Manufacture North America (Buffalo, WV) w/ Belcan Technical Services 01/05 to 02/06
Contract Lead CAD Engineer over a $140M V6 Engine Plant Project reporting to the Project Manager. Responsibilities included supervising two (2) CAD designers along with all 2D layouts and 3D models for the plants piping, electrical and machine layouts using AutoCAD and ProE Wildfire 2.0.
Standun Canforming Systems (Dayton, OH) w/ Belcan Technical Services 05/03 to 06/04
Contract Mechanical Engineer reporting to the Engineering Manager for this $25 million manufacturer of aluminum and steel can forming equipment. Assigned Project Manager for implementing Pro/E Wildfire and Pro/IntraLink along with the task of mechanical design, detail and analysis of several development projects.
Converted CAD drawings into a completely modeled 3D simulation of two Model B6 Can Forming Machines, a 22” and a 26” stroke varying from 350 to 450 SPM (formed cans/minute). Simulated the motion of the machines in Pro/Mechanism and analyzed the physical properties of the system in Pro/Mechanica and recommended design alternatives for customer failures.
Philips Medical Systems (Mayfield, OH) 02/00 to 02/02
Senior Design Engineer reporting to Staff Engineer of this $6.0 billion manufacturer of medical imaging equipment. Responsible for the research, design, and testing of components and systems for proper interface and interchangeability using Pro/E Wildfire/IntraLink, GD&T, and ANSYS for the new Infinion MRI unit.
Designed two (2) RF tight enclosures that shielded RF noise at 1.5 T and 3.0 T. One enclosure contained a window which provided the viewing requirements to monitor a LCD in the magnet room, patent pending.
Lead Design Engineer on an electro-mechanical locking mechanism that held the patient bed to the MRI unit. Completed a DOE and tested the prototype in the lab.

Product Line Manager reporting to President of this manufacturer of seating equipment for the sporting goods and outdoor power equipment industries. Managed the design and development of metal stamped, injection molded, blow molded, and roto-cast molded saddles, developed and administered the tooling, and set up high volume manufacturing processes.
