BELCAN TECHSERVICES (Covestro LLC onsite contractor) – Baytown, Texas 2015 – 2016 Safety / Human Resource Manager
Updated the safety procedures bringing them into compliance with current regulations reducing regulatory exposure. Developed and implemented a written Hazard Communication Program and trained employees on the program in compliance with OSHA regulations reducing regulatory exposure to fines and citations.
Consistently participated in safety audits and programs initiated by Covestro improving contractor safety behavior and work conditions.
Submitted recommendations to Covestro relating to safety policies, which when implemented, improved regulatory compliance for the client company and reduced costs for Belcan.
Responsible for maintaining safety training and records for more than 200 employees including subcontractors.

Developed and assisted in implementing pay-for-performance plans, HR policies & procedures, ADA compliant job descriptions, reward / recognition programs, and paid-time-off programs for several clients improving their legal compliance.
Developed a compensation plan and employee appraisal system which aligned the client’s compensation with the market thereby controlling escalating salaries. The appraisal system allowed for performance based pay where only a seniority based pay system existed before thereby reducing overall payroll expenses.
Assisted clients in resolving employee relations situations either through telephone consultations or through direct intervention as a mediator or facilitator.

Advised in the development of an in-house mediation program and trained the employee-mediators for the regional office of a state agency. This program was aimed at reducing the number of Human Rights Commission - E.E.O.C. complaints generated by workplace disputes.
Mediated or conciliated more than 750 disputes. The types of disputes mediated include employment disputes such as discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, termination, pay (FLSA), and workers’ compensation.
