1.JOB RESPONSBILITES

Online and offline Inspection of Seamless pipes (casing pipes, Line pipes, Mechanical Tubing and Coupling stock) with SONOTRONTM FB-340/76 High-tech Automated UT and EDDYTRONTM FB-340/8 EC Machine, this machine having five stations with 78 test channels to inspect complete volume of the pipe body.

Calibration of NDT equipment as per ASTM E317 and Ultrasonic testing of seamless pipes as per ASTM E213.

Calibration of automated UT and EC machine using N5 and N12.5 notch calibration standards and operation to check the imperfections in seamless pipes.

Evaluation and interpretation of pipe results by using A-Scan and C-Scan graphs obtained from the automated UT and EC machine and acceptance criteria accordance with international standards (5CT and 5L) and customer specifications.

Continues monitoring of visual and dimensional inspection of pipes at cooling bed for process control and to ensure the quality of the pipes prior to NDT.

Ensuring continues online visual and dimensional inspection of pipes after straightening is carried out as per work instructions.

NDT operations/ensure in process stage wise inspections are carried out as per applicable quality procedures and standards.

Continues feedback to the production department, if there is any deviation in the quality of the pipes and co-ordinate with production and other departments, for root cause analysis, implementation of Corrective and preventive action to improve the quality of production.

Disposition of discontinuities of non-conforming products using MPI (Central Conductor Method), Electro Magnetic Yoke, Ultrasonic flaw Detector and Ultrasonic Thickness measurement gauge and acceptance criteria as per given specifications.

Preparation and maintenance of NDT standards and ensure that all NDT inspection equipments are calibrated and maintained.

Random verification of the product inspected by the inspectors.

Review of NDT records and graphs and maintenance of all applicable quality records and documents.

Preparation of work instructions as per API 5CT, API 5L and customer requirements.

Preparation of inspection reports and analysis on reworks and rejections.

Magnetic Particle inspection (Wet and Dry), Ultrasonic Inspection (MODSONIC UT Flaw Detector) and Liquid penetrant testing of seamless pipes, weld joint, couplings, billets, FQM, Sizing rolls and shafts, forged components, plugs, castings and Incoming components.

Knowledge of handling metrological instruments like micrometer, vernier caliper, bevel protector, bore gauge, micro height gauge(2D) and slip gauges etc.
