Custody, control and Security over criminal offenders. Well versed in riot control (I
participated in three) and multiple disturbances. First aide and CPR trained
along with defibrillator training. Trained in the use of Lethal and less than lethal
devices. Taken classes in hostage negotiations, hand gun retention, and in the
use of collapsible batons. New officers were often placed with me so that they
could "shadow" and learn the job. Investigated criminal incidents that occurred
in prison, made arrests in some cases, administrative segregation for others. Was
called upon when a high profile inmate was to be moved or taken outside the
facility. Operated screening equipment, including X-ray machines and
hand-wands. Recommended improvements in security systems and procedures.
