WASHINGTON REPORTER
Credit Union Times/Nov. 2015 – May 2016
As the primary reporter in the Washington, D.C. area, I wrote daily news stories impacting the credit union space. Additionally, I wrote analyses of legislation and Congressional actions affecting the financial sector, as well as the politics driving such actions.
• While attending regulatory hearings and industry conferences, I wrote articles for the credit union industry to extract how regulations drive next steps for the industry and what technologies assist in mitigating the impact of such regulations.
• I cultivated industry sources, wrote about industry developments and interviewed key credit union representatives, experts and regulators.
• A three-part series I wrote on the impact of HR 1151 allowed me to write how credit unions were able to influence Congress through grassroots efforts. Additionally, I wrote extensively how legal marijuana businesses addressed the need for financial services and the technology used to meet that need. Reporter 1
SNL Financial /January 2014 – November 2015
While reporting at SNL Financial, I leveraged my IT knowledge to write how EMV chip-embedded cards, Bitcoins and cybersecurity impacted the industry. Also, I developed and wrote a weekly column on the influence of politics on the banking and credit union industry through regulation and legislation.
• I wrote a weekly column on the broader stock markets and specifically the banking markets as well as daily articles of industry news.
• Additionally, I conducted exclusive interviews with industry leaders and key banking representatives and attended Congressional hearings, as well conferences surrounding the financial space, including retail mortgages in Baltimore and an NCUA conference in Montreal.

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER / IMPLEMENTATION SPECIALIST Cardinal Health – Pyxis Products / June 1998-May 2009 During my tenure at Cardinal Health, I managed the implementation of Pyxis medication products, including the Medstation and PyxisConnect. I mentored employees on a variety of Pyxis products and became a Subject Matter Expert for PyxisConnect. As an SME, I assisted in writing the policies and procedures for PyxisConnect, as well as user guides and client interfacing documentation.
• Led the implementation of over 100 units of Pyxis Medstation and other products at Vanderbilt University Medical Center beginning in 2000. This multi-million dollar project lasted over one year, during which I coordinated Pyxis staff and VUMC pharmacy technicians for an on-time installation. Coordinated pharmacy staff, onsite IT staff, Telco, facilities maintenance and nursing. Trained every pharmacy person and nursing staff prior to the installation.
• Management handpicked me for my organizational skills and product knowledge to move to the Nashville, TN area to lead this implementation. This multi-million dollar project was completed on time and within budget parameters.
• Supported dozens of customers in Huntington, WV and the surrounding area from 1998 until I moved to Nashville, TN in 2000, where I supported customers from Bowling Green, KY into Northern Alabama.
• Over the decade at Cardinal, I implemented thousands of units and coordinated the installation of millions of dollars of equipment and services and was selected for the President’s award for customer service and product knowledge excellence in 2008 and was selected to collaborate on several Six Sigma projects. OFFICE MANAGER / KREGPLM PROJECT LEADER
Kreg Corporation/November 1993 – June 1998
As the KREGPLM Project Leader, I spearheaded importing of client data for final onsite implementation of products. The process included the reconciliation of data and audit reports prior to scheduling the client installation. Onsite implementation included software installation, uploading client data,, and client software training.
• Most clients saw an immediate dollar return upon receipt of the software. At a small facility in Virginia, I determined the client was not charging enough for a simple office visit, thereby creating an institution-wide deficit. The client was able to raise the office visit by ten dollars and immediately saw an improvement in their budget.
• I defined and wrote the policies and procedures for new as well as legacy products. In addition, I wrote, edited and maintained all technical and customer-facing documentation.
• Developed a client error-report tracking program that provided programmers quicker access to error reporting toward faster resolution.
