MASTER THESIS (on-going)
Analysis of Precoding and Beamforming Strategies in LTE – Advanced.
This is carrying out jointly with Rohde and Schwarz GmbH and In stitute for Communication Engineering of TU
Munich. Major tasks included are extension UE downlink receiver architecture to support TM9 in CMW500
communication tester. Research on different CSI reporting mechanisms and optimizing the overhead.
SEMINAR PRESENTATIONS
MIMO Technologies in LTE and LTE-Advanced, Master Degree Seminar
Expected to deliver various MIMO technologies employed in LTE and provide a brief overview on the MIMO
technologies and CoMP technique currently discussed in the LTE-Advanced forum.
Ultra Wide Band (UWB) Radio Technology for WPANs, Bachelor Degree Seminar
In this seminar work, possibility of UWB as a next personal area network s olution is explored. UWB technology
promises to make it easy to create high speed WPANs that can connect devices throughout the home.
ACADEMIC RESEARCH PROJECTS
Implementation and Performance Evaluation of Reed- Solomon (RS) Codes, Master Degree Project
Delivered RS systematic encoder and decoder to analyze Coder Error Rate performance on erasure channel and
q-ary symmetric channel. BMA and Chien search algorithm were used for decoding.
Hardware Implementation of an Encryption Algorithm, Master Degree Project
VHDL is used to implement and simulate the IDEA-algorithm. Hardware used is Xilinx FPGA of the Type
XC3S500EFG320 from the SPARTAN-3E family. Resource optimized scheduling schemes are used.
Robust video transmission over MIMO-OFDM system, Bachelor Thesis
Designed and developed a simulation system which fulfills the requirement of next generation mobile systems
(4G) i.e. transmission of rich multimedia content over wireless networks, having robustness to channel
impairments. This system is based on MIMO and OFDM technology which is simulated in an environment
similar to LTE.
Interactive Video Switching (IVS) for 4G Mobile System, Bachelor Degree Project
Designed and developed a simulation model in which a cross layer interaction between physical and application
layers are brought. This interaction is used to switch the quality of video according to the user requirement.
Adaptive MIMO Switching (AMS) and Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) are used in the model for better
performance.
Dirty Paper Coding for Compact MIMO system Bachelor Degree Project
Designed and implemented in simulation a novel approach to scale down the size of handheld MIMO devices. An
information theoretic approach, DPC is used to take care of the effects of mutual coupling and correlation when
antennas are placed closer to each other.
