Project Details:

Title : Design and Implementation of “WIND ARENA” in B.TECH

Duration : Jan 2011-April 2011.

Description: Conversion of Kinetic Energy (i.e., energy of motion) of the wind into mechanical

energy that can be utilized to perform useful work or to generate electricity. When the wind blows

against the vanes or sails they rotate about the axis and the rotational motion can be made to

perform useful work. Wind energy conversion devices are commonly known as Wind turbines

because they convert the energy of the wind stream into energy of rotation also to protect the wind

turbine from extreme wind damage is provided by means of incorporating permanent magnet

alternator and microprocessor controlled electronics to optimize its power production capability. The

microprocessor continuously adjusts the loading of the alternator. It is 2kw horizontal type auto

deflecting wind turbine.
