• Over 30 years in the Marine and Industrial industry, including over eighteen years in

•Experience includes engineering systems in Pulp & Paper mills on fishing boats,
tugboats, oil barges, oil tankers and ocean-going bulk carriers, as well as dry-dockings
and major conversion projects.
•Excellent rapport with all types of craftsmen in the industry, from shipyard workers,
towboat hands, marine mechanics, as well as personnel in regulatory bodies of the
Coast Guard, ABS, Naval architects and marine surveyors.
•Supervision of 75-plus craft personnel in all facet s of ship repair: scheduling of
personnel and projects; manpower tracking, daily cost accounting, tracking materials,
subcontractors, and budgets, while stressing on-time and under-budget expertise.
•Excellent safety record: prepared and implemented required safety procedures and
meetings both on vessels and in shops. Have written a number Job Hazard Analyses.

STRAITS MARINE & INDUSTRIAL, Port Angeles, Washington 2004-2013
Superintendent/Project Manager: Duties included assisting in managing, estimating
and running a variety of jobs on the Alaska oil tanker fleet, USCG Cutters, tugs and
barges as well as oil spill response vessels along the west coast.
SELF EMPLOYED, Longview, Washington 1998-2003
Contract Ship Repair: Provided contract ship repair on retired navy ships from
Brownsville, Texas to Mobile, Alabama, including directing the removal and disposal of
all petroleum products, asbestos and PCBs on board sink-ex ships .
CASCADE GENERAL, Portland, Oregon 1995-1998
Ship Superintendent : Responsible for all facets of the ship repair industry in the
Voyage Repair Division, from estimating and running jobs to settling invoices.
FOSS MARlTIME, C.S.R. Division, Portland, Oregon 1983-1995
Chief Engineer/Barge Superintendent: Started as a Chief Engineer on ocean tugs
ranging from 1800-4000 horsepower from 1983-1993 when the company was known as
Knappton/Brix Maritime. Was the Barge Superintendent 1993-1995 for the C.S.R.
Division when the company was purchased by Foss Maritime, which included the
oversight and repairs of chemical and petroleum ocean barges working the entire west
coast.
