Desktop support
Provides support for desktop systems around the world, troubleshooting
problems face to face with local users and on the phone with remote users.
I worked on the build out of the Denver office, provided technical support
to sales conferences. I have worked with high level management to
provide computer support, and with vendors in regards to ordering new
equipment and warranty support.
Server support
Administered servers, i.e. Exchange, Backup Exec, file share, print servers

Installed Operating system, configured system, installed service packs and
updates, joined the server to a domain.
Managed active directory, AD controllers, created user accounts, security

and managed DNS, (public and local LAN), DHCP, Microsoft VPN, FTP,

Server applications
I installed Exchange server, SMTP, user accounts, distribution lists.
Monitored the out going queues and would trouble shoot any connectivity
issues sending to other domains. Installed and supported Blackberry
Enterprise Server and handheld devices. Installed and manage Antigen
AV for Exchange, configured automatic updates, and modified rules for
incoming email. Installed and managed Symantec Corporate AV on
servers, created an AV server to push out definition updates to desktops.
Installed and managed Backup Exec and the LTO tape carousel. I did
daily differential and weekly back ups, installed Microsoft SQL and
configured the system to automatically backup databases to file so they
could be backed up to tape. I installed other applications such as
Microsoft Great Plains, CRM, and c360 for CRM. I Installed and
managed Terminal server, and Citrix server.
Desktops
I installed Windows XP on desktops, mostly Dell computers. Upgraded
hard drives, memory, additional video cards and trouble shot and replaced
other components. I used Ghost to re-image hard drivers, and to transfer
data from an old hard drive to a new one. I installed and configured the
use of multiple monitors on XP desktops. I installed desktop applications
such as Office 2003, Antivirus client, WinZip, Adobe reader or writer,
Microsoft CRM Outlook plug in, Great Plains client, configure printers,
ftp clients, CRT terminal emulator. I configured and supported Laptop
computers and user’s remote access to our LAN.
IP/Network
Supported IP switches, trouble shot connectivity issues use a Fluke
Network Assistant. I managed FortiGuard firewall, VLANs, wireless
access points. I helped users set up none Microsoft IP devices on the
network.
