SYNOPSIS

Professionally qualified with 4.5 years of experience in Project management, Installation/ Commissioning, Maintenance & Team management.

Currently associated with Vedanta Aluminum Limited, Lanjigarh, Orissa, 10 billion $ USD green field project of 2 + 4 MMTpA productivity listed in London stock exchange as Engineer Greenfield Project- commissioning & Mechanical maintenance. Technically advanced cost-efficient, state of the art production systems and processes cross-functional assignments.

Proficiency in managing maintenance operations of Machines, Equipment & Utilities with proven abilities in reducing downtime and enhancing operational efficiencies of the same.

ORGANISATIONAL DETAILS

Since November 2008 working with Vedanta Aluminium Limited- Sterilite Group and Vedanta Resources Plc. Lanjigarh, Orissa a green field project of 2 MPTA as Associate Manager – Projects and Maintenance.

Last assignment : Technical core member for Technical plan, Concept, Basic & Detail engineering, execution, evaluation & approval of technical drawings, specification, standards, codes for implementation during construction phase, MIS, Project micro-scheduling, Contract management of supply & service contracts as well as EPC/LSTK packages, Project monitoring & control, testing & pre-commissioning, commissioning, conducting performance test for 1.44 MMTPA (Green field) as well as 0.6 MMTPA Debottlenecking (Brown field) project.

Current Assignment: Associate Manager and Area in-charge in Mechanical maintenance for the 2 MMTPA alumina refinery operating plant.

Target : Lowest project cost, expedite & early completion of project according

to Schedule requirement as per business plan. Optimum equipment availability around the refinery for increased productivity.

THE KEY RESULTS AREAS- DETAILS

Basic & detail engineering, Design, Project Management:

Firsthand experience of Green Field Alumina Refinery Project execution. Responsible for erection and Construction activities in Predesilication, Digestion, Settler washers, Causticizer & Oxalate destruction, hydrate seed thickeners, Security Filtration and HID units of Red Side 1.44 MMTPA Alumina refinery.

Coordinating and Controlling of project activities by identifying the inputs and interfaces required by various contracting agencies.

Actively handling the safety, material, manpower, planning & scheduling activities involved in the project in Microsoft project.

Contributing to tanks’,structural fabrication drawings, Piping GADs, P&ID’s, PFD & isometric drawings for future enhancements

Handling Project contracts like METSO Pumps, WARMEN Pumps, Tyco Valves, Poyam Valves, Tranter Heat exchangers, Disc Filters, EOT, Hoists, Gantry cranes, heavy duty Agitators,Metso, Warman, Msqaure, Gaudfrin (France), SMMIEC (China) PPI vaccum pumps,Furnace fabrica, FL Smidth, Westech, Mcnally Bharat, KHD Humboldt Wedag .

Optimization of Recourses to get best output to achieve targets & milestones.

Actively involved in safety, material, manpower, planning & scheduling activities involved in the project execution & timely implementation of mile stone targets.

Erection and Commissioning

Conducting initial site visit, preparation of preliminary site layout drawing of all equipment, including Tanks, Structures and Pipe racks etc.

Installation, erection and commissioning of Gaudfrin make Diaster Filters which is a Latest Technology used for the first time in India

Prioritizing & Coordinating the Installation, erection and commissioning activities between different agencies like Civil, mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation that are working in Parallel.

Hand on experiences for Installation, erection and commissioning of Centrifugal pumps, agitators, ball mills (300-400 TPH), Crushers (400-1000 TPH), Banana Screens (150-450TPH), Vibrating Screens (1000 TPH), Conveyor system, Process, utilities, IBR, Non-IBR piping, Vertical slurry pumps, Truck tipplers, Rake & vacuum pumps.

Installation, erection and commissioning of Caustic (BTCS) & Fuel Oil Unloading (BTPN) Wagon facility for railway transportation for refinery.

Installation, erection and commissioning for pressure vessels, process piping and pumping system for cold water circuit & hot water circuit trails of process unit with respect to continuity checking.

Monitoring of site activities, testing, stress relieving and statutory testing for pressure vessels, Radiography etc.

Verification of isometrics, piping GAD, routing and site approvals for suit at site works.

Maintenance/Operations

SAP PM Module implementation. Planning Maintenance strategy and scheduling through SAP. Going through vendor Manual and preparation of task list and spare part list.

Operation & maintenance Strategy of all units including Spares & resources optimization also prepare SMP, equipment codification in for SAP master data scheduling for PM as per maintenance philosophy.

Effectuating preventive maintenance schedules of various machineries and instruments to increase machine up time and equipment reliability.

Actively involved in negotiations of extra cost of works for capacity enhancement, Quality improvement & de-bottlenecking.

Proactively identifying areas of obstruction/breakdowns and taking steps to rectify the equipments through application of trouble shooting tools and sophisticated SKF Condition Monitoring tools.

Procurement of Spares and management of inventory by setting adequate reorder level and MRP.

De-Bottlenecking Plant Optimization & refurbishment Project

Through case study of each process area and unit identification of limitation, bottlenecks, constraints and area of capacity & quality improvements.

Team member of finalization of basic technical plan and basic engineering scheme and estimation of project cost through re-engineering of past project experience.

Undertaking thorough technical operational discussion & deliberation in light of Bottlenecks with visiting delegates from NFC (China Nonferrous Metal industry’s Foreign Engineering and Construction Co. Limited).

Proactive member of finalization of scheme for De-bottlenecking project after identification & each bottlenecks review.

Preparation of technical comparison sheet for each system to replace Chinese standard with Indian one.

Evaluation of engineering, design calculation and technical aspects and compare with Indian aspect to expedite overall project schedule.

Training & Development

Imparting end user training in SAP PM Module to all to achieve full optimization of the system.

Imparting continuous on job training to the subordinates to enhance their operational efficiencies.

Responsible for the training, development and growth of the process technicians, GETs & engineers working with us.

Commercial Operations

Dealing with vendors for all technical clarification regarding spares. Preparation of technical scope for various AMC.

Active team member for techno commercial discussion regarding AMC in O&M of DG’s,Pumps etc

Giving key contribution in negotiations of extra cost of works.

Responsible for certifying the contractor’s, OEM, Vendors (L&T ECC, Hoffincons, Metso, FFIL,Tyco, etc) Supply & erection bills

Preparation of technical specification, tender documents, technical enquiries, Material Requisition (MR), Purchase Requisition (PR, bid offer, comparative evaluation analysis & statements sheet to expedite the De-bottlenecking projects.

Defining scope of EPC, Conventional packages, direct equipments Order and finalization member for Purchase ordering to EPC/Vendors.

Arranging of offers for various critical long lead-time items and sending to Purchase Dept to as reduce the time of procurement.

PROFESSIONAL ATTAINMENTS

Amongst the competitive performers in the company. Received excellence for work done during site execution and installation and commissioning of Fuel oil unloading system, so awarded as “employee of the month” for on time completion of job and making use of available resources.

Completed and commissioned the assigned packages of debottlenecking project which included Cooling tower, security filtration system, Red mud decantation system, compressor installation, Condensate polishing unit, Fuel oil unloading system, caustic unloading system, hook up activities with existing system and Disc filter up gradation.

Basic knowledge on handling different contracts and commercial aspect for procuring any mechanical equipment and spare parts planning for asset management in plant.

Knowledge on industrial safety practices, equipment isolation system and permit system for plant shut down.

Awarded as “excellent grade” in appraisal on completion of two year for extra achievement and recommended for “STAR PERFORMER”.
