Individual Counseling

Counseled students using cognitive behavioral and person - centered

approaches to address such issues as depression, self-esteem and poor

academic performance. Counseled students regularly in accordance with

their IEP standards to meet specific goals. Counseled numerous students in

short-term crisis situations such as bullying or classroom behavioral

issues.

Group Counseling

Led and co-led boys, girls and mixed groups weekly consisting of topics

that included social skills, academic issues, behavioral issues,

family/personal issues, and transition to the high school/college setting.

Classroom Guidance

Organized CDOS scheduling in the Middle School setting, (Grades 6 -8).

Administered classroom presentations on the transitioning from the

elementary school to the middle school level as well as the transitioning

from the middle school to the High School level.

Provided assistance to high school students with their College Application

Process in the selection of perspective school of interest. Administered

senior conferences to make students and parents aware of post-secondary

educational options.

Participated in weekly teachers meetings on student classroom performance

and behavior, as input to target individual, group, and overall student

counseling needs. Participated in weekly school leadership team meetings

to collaborate on school wide initiatives such as student scheduling,

school open house, student monitoring programs and progress reports.
