Project Manager/Facilities Manager/Operations Manager, 2009–2012

I provided management oversight for all phases of construction projects, including coordinating resources such as workers, materials, and equipment. Ensured specifications followed and work proceeded on schedule and within budget. Managed and mentored project foreman, directing and coordinating composition, training, and efforts of 60 personnel to increase productivity and product quality to ensure customer specifications met or exceeded.

• Reviewed blueprints, schematics and design build plans to disseminate construction activities into logical steps, managing time and budgets to meet established guidelines.

• Evaluated contractors and suppliers based on cost, quality service, reliability, and worked with vendors on process improvements, surrounding expense reduction on shipping, bulk orders, and returns.

• Proactive leadership style was the key driver in maintaining high levels of performance across 20 Naval Regions Southwest Construction Readiness Training Projects. Led 6,000 man-days of construction valued in excess of $875,000.00.

Construction Inspector/Quality Control Inspector Operations, 2009-2012

Inspected new construction of commercial and industrial structures to include earthwork for compliance with local, state, and federal codes and regulations; checked and enforced field conformance to approved plans and specifications. Coordinated meetings with project foremen, tenant liaisons, quality assurance manager, customers, and contractors to discuss pre-construction submittals and preparatory, initial, and follow-on inspection requirements.

• Supervised through subordinates, the construction of $2,500,000 worth of construction projects, greatly enhancing the quality of life for San Diego Sailors and Marines.

Supervised the tasking and administrative matters of 30 personnel for the maintenance and repairs of 57 Navy Literage Systems by tracking maintenance, critical repairs, and movement of equipment valued in excess of $400,000,000.
