Operation of control room, turbine floor, generator floor, generator
transformer floor pump room battery room and AC floor. Manual operation of
spherical valve, bypass valve, pelton wheel, speed governing systems,
static exciters, transformer cooling control panel, auxiliary and power
transformers, circuit breakers isolators, indoor substation high pressure
oil pumps, screw pumps, compressor induction motors (750hp), diesel
generator operation.

Working as graduate trainee engineer in 110 kv substation thirumala, Kerala
state electricity board
Responsibilities:
Technical skills-held duties of the substation operator. Over hauling of
power transformers, oil filtering, control and relay panel erection,
commissioning of transformer, maintenance of transformer, circuit breaker
(vcb, sf6 cb), ring main unit (ctc ccc), isolator, potential transformer,
current transformer, CVT, lead acid and vrla battery, bus bar, earth
switch, lightning arrester operation and maintenance, cable laying and
cable joining (straight and end joint), testing of power equipments, relay
testing, inspection of electrical equipment. Break down voltage test,
Meggar testing. Familiarity with protection and control of Switch gears
for substations, Overhead Transmission lines, UG cables and LT Distribution
system.
Office work-Arranging permit to work, Preparing estimate for substation's
civil and electrical work, preparation of bill, monthly overview report,
scheduling of load arrangement, public relation, Manage the tender
submission process for substation's civil and electrical works with
distributors and customers, including - pricing, documentation, follow-up,
feedback.
