Education
Rochester Institute of Technology (2000-2002) May 25th, 2002
Executive Master of Business Administration (M.B.A)
(Executive program requires a minimum of eight years business experience
and corporate sponsorship.)
University of Central Florida (1988-1990), Dean's List Fall 1989.
Bachelor of Engineering Technology (B.S.E.T.)
Brevard Community College (1986-1989)
Associate of Arts Degree (A.A.)
Professional Experience
MS Kennedy, Inc.
Liverpool, NY
Manufacturer of hybrid microelectronics for military and space applications
Applications Engineer 2010-Present
. Responsible for resolving customer issues and questions primarily
regarding linear and switching regulator designs.
. Perform phase and gain analysis on the regulator circuits for defense
contractors and NASA to help ensure stability under application
specific conditions to avoid the release of conditionally stable
designs.
. Design and optimization of application circuits for space and military
POL (Point of Load) power designs.
. Write application notes and specification sheets for MSK devices.
SCHOTT Lighting and Imaging 2005-2010
Southbridge, MA
Manufacturer of fiber optic assemblies and LED/Halogen based light sources
for medical, Industrial, military, and Microscopy applications.
Electrical Design Engineer
. Responsible for analog electronics and mechanical designs for several
projects. Continuing my experience from LazerData/PSC, I designed
several operational amplifier circuits and current regulation circuits
for driving LED's as well as testing light guides and power supplies.
. Developed a three axis fiber winding machine using Gallil brushless
motion controls and a LabView GUI. I also developed and automated
light line calibration machine-patent pending-that used CCD image data
and servo and solenoid controls to automatically scan and score the
glass of a fiber optic light line to calibrate the relative intensity
along the line. This machine has gained world-wide acceptance within
SCHOTT as the standard for consistent quality.
. Customer interface was also required with the inherent project
management responsibilities that accompanied the projects I was
assigned. I was instrumental in bringing new business in excess of 10%
of the groups annual revenues with a single project were my technical
interface and diligence with the customer was pivotal to its success.
. Developed a strong report with internal and external sales staff to
expedite our response to our customer's technical needs.
TRW Automotive Electronics Group 2003-2005
Auburn, NY
Tier one supplier of automotive electronics to various automotive OEM's
New Program Engineer
. Responsible for the integration of tire pressure monitoring equipment
into various automotive platforms throughout the US, Europe, and Asia.
. Worked with Honda, Toyota, TRW engineering, and production extensively
to provide sufficient validation requirements for release into the
Honda Odyssey and the RL. This included customer visits and
presentations, as well as internal program management and follow
through to make sure what left the floor was what was validated and
true design intent.
PSC Automation, Inc. (Lazerdata Products Group) 1990-2001
Orlando, FL (1990-1994) / Sanford, FL (1994-19997) / Webster, NY (1997-
2001)
Designer, manufacturer, and integrator of bar code scanning, and other AIDC
equipment.
Sr. Electrical Engineer (1998-2001)
. Responsible for UL 1950 and FCC class B approvals and design
optimization for four million dollar scanner installation for UPS in
Rockford. Illinois. Also responsible for primary power distribution
and signal conditioning for all products.
. Project Manager for Model 770/770I SureScan omni directional scanner,
while designing three circuit boards in parallel-from concept through
gerbers, and while coordinating the release of two products. Designs
included operational amplifiers, comparators, photonics, and power
circuits.
. Incorporated 635nm technology into a scanning solution for the USPS
Singulator project in Springfield Massachusetts, which provided six-
sided performance unmatched at the time.
. Assisted production with test fixture design, component level
troubleshooting, and optical measuring devices, as well as production
processes, procedures, and test plans.
Electrical Engineer (1993-1998)
. Developed industry specific knowledge and trade secrets specific to
increasing spot to bar ratios and operational amplifier driven
transversal functions to enhance system performance-specifically depth
of field without the use of costly and unreliable mechanical auto-
focus systems.
. Helped develop optical alternating focus schemes to increase depth of
field by modulating VLD's.
. Developed PCB and AutoCAD design skills to supplement the skill set of
the department.
. Developed cost effective application of avalanche photodiode
technology with a methodology for manufacturable and accurate thermal
calibration.
. Developed intelligent signal tracking schemes and optical filtering to
increase dynamic range without quantizing background noise. Thresholds
were dynamically adjusted using op amp circuits and logic to maximize
signal to noise while also increasing dynamic range.
. Developed synchronized DC brushless motor controls to prevent beam
collisions from adjacent scanners.
Jr. Engineer (1990-1993)
. Assisted in the design, release, and production of Lazertrak ,
Hawkeye , SureScan Model 990 omni directional, and the
LD6000/8000/9000 line scanner bar code scanning products.
. Assisted production, service, sales, and field representatives in the
understanding of new engineering releases and troubleshooting.
. Acquired industry specific knowledge and AIDC equipment experience.
Additional Training
. Naval Advanced Electronics Training Program (1980-1982)
. Naval RF Data Equipment Maintenance Program (1982-1983)
. Skilled in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SAP/MRP Systems, and
many others.
