COVER LETTER
Dear Manager,
I am a registered crane operator currently working full time in
Perth CBD, Western Australia. I have been working for one of
Australia's biggest developing construction companies; Diploma
for the past 5 years. Initially I worked as a rigger; I then
completed my registration as a crane operator in 2006. Over the
last few years, working as a crane operator I have been
requested to work on the highest building constructions in Perth
CBD, been given 3 pay rises and been given several job offers
from construction owners and supervisors that have come in
contact with my work / come on site. A typical day for me
involves; liaising with supervisors and contractors, rigging
loads, assessing and selecting appropriate lifting equipment,
and executing numerous types of lifts.
I enjoy working on the ground with my co-workers, being involved
in the day to day lift scheduling, rigging loads, and most
importantly crane operating.
On average I work between 50 to 70 hours a week, I am
contracted to work 45 hours a week, but am often called up to do
longer hours and at times 7 instead of 6 days.
I have been eager to work abroad, for a while now, and in my
recent travels to USA felt the states was it. While travelling
in the states I sat my prac crane operating licence. I passed
and have received my NCCCO certificate for this. I now only need
to complete and pass my written exam after which I will be a
fully licensed crane operator in the states. As I will be
gaining my E3 visa to move and work in the states I am just
looking for a place of work before I make the international
move. I will plan location and other details around my place of
work. My wife and I are keen to travel based on my employment as
much as we are keen to stay in one place. I have my
international driver's licence, which I utilized on my recent
travels to the USA in which I travelled the states over three
months.
I am eager to begin work in the USA and after receiving my
employment confirmation hope to be crane operating / rigging as
soon as January this coming year (2014). I am open to contract
work from 6 months to a year or more (as E3 visa is very
flexible with time limits and can be extended).

employment experience), a copy of my NCCCO certificate (still
current as recently obtained).
