PROJECT MANAGER
A creative, enthusiastic, result driven executive with 20 years of telecommunication experience
gained from both fixed and cellular network. Formerly, Senior Manager of Smart Communications
Transmission and Support Facility Engineering handling 32 engineers in the design and
implementation activities for cellular infrastructure. Prior management responsibilities include
knowledge and exposure in the various areas of planning, detailed engineering, implementation,
acceptance, quality and record management of telecommunication facilities. Work function
includes bid evaluation, negotiation, testing, acceptance and support maintenance of contracted
network expansion projects.
CAREER SUMMARY
Former Senior Manager, Smart Communication Inc. an acknowledged industry leader in the
Philippines cellular industry with 36.9 million subscribers. Management experience with Smart
Communication provided 9 years of increasing levels of responsibility in the various field of
Planning, Engineering, Implementation, Record Management and Quality Assurance. Earlier 11
years experience with Smart LEC, PLDT and two Middle East based government owned
telecommunication companies focused on fixed telecom network.
SELECTED MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS
TRANSMISSION NETWORK
• Established design parameter used to implement the Northern Luzon Fiber Backbone for
Smart Communications, Inc. (Philippines largest cellular operator) providing complete
network capacity, resiliency and protection.
• Part of the core management team who micro managed the deployment of the Palawan
MW Transmission Backbone and South Manila fiber transmission loop to ensure superiority
in service quality and market dominance.
• Coordinated leased E1 requirements of at least 200 BTS sites in Metro Manila for fast and
economical deployment strategy.
SUPPORT FACILITIES
• Established standard for towers design to manage cost, fabrication timeframe and maintain
quality standard in support to the massive deployment requirement. This in turn facilitated
cost efficient maintenance and repair activities.
• Standardized power back up and protection on all MSC, BSC, BTS and Relay sites to
ensure continuous network operation during prolonged commercial power service
interruption resulting to savings on CAPEX and OPEX.
QUALITY MANAGEMENT
• Completed maintenance contract to refurbish and maintain 350 aging and degraded
cellular sites all over the Philippines ensuring infrastructure reliability and dependability.
RECORD MANAGEMENT
• Established digitized plans and computerized data record system of cellular network that
maintained accurate, up to date and secured information which are readily available for
planning, engineering, implementation, operations, audit, accounting and licensing
activities.
LEC FIXED NETWORK
• Established wired system design approach and deployment strategy for the whole Smart
LEC roll out commitment to install 350K fixed telephone lines within budget of 350M PHP.
• Responsible for completion of the design and implementation standard of the whole 350K
lines Smart Wired Network.
