Description: Wal-Mart Mainframe Database team consists of Database

Administrators (DBA) and Database Engineers (DBE). The team provide support

to both IMS z/OS as well as DB2. Helped achieve and maintain a successful

transition of mainframe and mid-tier DBA support (production and test) to a

24x7 onsite-offshore model.

Responsibilities:

. Provide DBA support for the entire range of IMS platforms for

production and test systems: CICS-DBCTL, BMPs, DLI Batch, ODBC access

to IMS databases, IMS-DB2 access, PSBGEN, HALDB and non-HALDB full

function databases in Sysplex, block level data sharing environments.

. Liaison with Walmart DBAs, and provide direction and training for two

offshore IMS DBAs.

. Provided the day to day support and administration activities of

DB2/IMS subsystems across various LPARS of Z/OS mainframe systems.

. Monitoring the REMEDY queues and resolve production and Project Issue

Tracking tickets

. Monitoring the jobs, processes and interfaces of IMS and DB2

Databases.

. Perform the Analysis of IMS and DB2 batch job failures.

. Performed the core DB2 administration activities viz., performing

image copies of various databases, load /unload the data to/from

database, creation / rebuilding the indexes, validating the data,

repairing the table spaces and other related activities.

. Perform the database sizing and performing the online / offline REORG

activities of various databases.

. Perform the DB2 performance and tuning of DB2 Databases for all the

applications across the Z/OS mainframe LPARS.

. Provide 24/7 oncall support and attend the War/Focus Rooms in case of

IMS applications for GE Medical Systems and GE Healthcare Technologies.

Responsibilities:

. Maintained customer service and billing application for GE Medical

Systems field engineers.

. Created iterative application enhancements, and supported users.

. Tech support for the GIB system that controlled end-user customer

views for Service, Marketing and Sales of GE Healthcare Technologies.
