Sr. IT Manager / Sr. IT Engineer / Deputy IT Director
Focused on developing a $1.5M annual budget in addition to maintaining and expanding the internal
service and support offerings. Moved corporate infrastructure from outdated legacy systems and
equipment to current supported technology platforms while staying within a locked budget. Introduced
high capacity, low cost, telecommunications systems, including in-house conference calling systems based
on open source VOIP server technology. Led team to implement in-house messaging systems and in-
house video teleconferencing systems. Also served as the backup administrator for the local Windows
domain servers and the High Power Linux computing clusters. Made security improvements a top priority
and created a position to focus on IT security aspects.

Recruited to maintain, recruit and lead an in-house team of IT professionals in support of the corporate
mission. Duties included supervision of 5 team members in multiple offices, annual capital expenditure
planning, secure SCIF computing planning, maintaining vendor relations, and strategic growth planning.
Basic duties included team building, technology infrastructure and software maintenance. I served as the
ISSM for some of the SCIF computing environments. Developed and maintained AIS plans for secure

EDGILE INC., Aliso Viejo, California 2001 - 2003
OS Development Manager
Managed and assisted in the development of a secure Operating System (OS) base for the "Edgile
Gateway Device" (EGD). The EGD was a secure Intranet/Extra-net portal designed to allow for the
publishing of internal network applications to the global Internet in a secure manner. This technology was
ultimately sold to Aventail, Inc. Responsibilities included monitoring, assessing, and reporting on the daily
status of OS development to the CTO. Contributed design concepts during the initial design phase of the
device, to insure both ease of operation by the administrators and system security. Security
enhancements included the lockdown of most system services, as well as the integration of the National
Security Administration (NSA) Linux high security kernel. Simultaneously contributed to other product
development projects involving Apache/Tomcat and Windows 2000 integration and kept CFO apprised of
status.
