Symantec develops products every year with best features to protect the computers from

external threats. My responsibility as a QA team member was to do in-depth functionality

testing for OEM vendors. I did functionality testing for NIS\NAV 2008, NIS\NAV 2009

and N360 2.0. Our team performed black box testing and also functional testing of the

products for OEM vendors.

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) is a branch of Symantec which delivers

products to its vendors such as HP, DELL, MS and etc. OEM main responsibility is to

alter the generic version of the product according to the vendor’s requirement and to

deliver them.

As a QA Tester it was my responsibility to test the vendor modified product according to

the requirements and after quality checking it is shipped to the specific vendors. Products

like NIS 2008, NAV 2008, NIS 2009, NAV 2009 and N360 2.0 had been certified and

shipped to the specific vendors.

Trend micro is a leading anti Virus Company, which deals with enterprise and home level

security for windows, Solaris, UNIX and Linux. Inter Scan Mail for MS exchange is a enterprise

level antivirus product, which safeguards the MS exchange servers from the external threats.

My role as a quality assurance is to test the product which is localized in Japanese version. To

test the functionality and also to make assure that all the products are in Localized in Japanese.

Project: Windows Sustain Engineering (WINSE)

Title: Test Engineer

Environment: Windows 2000 / XP / Vista, Windows Test Technologies Tool, MS Bug tracking

tool, and Win Debugger

Windows Sustain Engineering (WINSE) is a part of Microsoft Corporation division which deals

with various windows security threats and issuing the Windows updates to tackle those threats to

the customers.

Customers will report the security problems or any other Security vulnerability to Microsoft and

WINSE looks into the security loopholes and creates patches for those loop holes. And also it

issues Windows service packs on monthly basis which contains all the patches.

This project involves testing the patches and file components within Windows 2000 / XP / Vista

releases.
