Classroom Projects
Engineering Methods (Team Project) - Designed and built a working model
of a drawbridge; bridge opened and closed automatically or manually
operated by a remote control in 90 seconds or less.
Electrical Engineering I (Individual Project) - Built the circuit board
for a water-level monitor equipped with an alarm system.
EENG 3299 (Team Project) - Participated in the design of a program and
the circuit board of the Grandfather Clock for "The Nutcracker
Production". The off-stage controller system consisted of a AT89S51
microcontroller, a 74C9228 16-key encoder and a keyboard; program written
in assembly directed commands to a set of stepper motors to control the
hands to execute forward and reverse motions. Diagrams for the clock and
the hand controller were drawn using Microsoft Visio.
Senior Design I/II (Team Project) - Designed and implemented a fully
working physical system applying fuzzy logic and PI algorithms to achieve
motor speed control under varying load conditions. The fluctuation of the
motors' speed was controlled via a board by a Renesas micro-controller,
the simulation of the circuit was performed with the evaluation (student)
version of PSpice 8.0 circuit-simulation software.
