Responsibilities as 3G RNO Engineer
1. Keeping the track record on statistics on daily basis such as RRC Sucess rate, RAB sucess rate, Inter RAT success rate, SHO added success rate, RF Loss, Abnormal Loss, Normal loss, Voice loss, Video loss, RAB congestion,Voice DCR, Video DCR, Voice traffic and video traffic.
2. Achieve & maintain the Radio Network Performance as per the contracted KPIs (Accessibility, Retainability,Availability, Mobility & Service Integrity).
3. Fine tuning RAN Parameters, counters and their application involving Network optimization and KPI.
4. Perform UTRAN parameter changes and maintain UTRAN configuration database.
5. Reduce congestion, drops and frequency interference, improve HO performance (IRAT, Soft, Softer), LAC Update, Paging, CSSR, RRC Connection, RAB Establishment Success rate for Voice, Video, Packet, HSPA.
6. Network parameters consistent check on weekly and monthly basis according to project requirement.
7. Define drive test routes and prepare MapInfo route maps for Drivetest Engineer.
8. Initial tuning such as identify coverage holes, identify interference area, optimize neighbor relations, find hardware/installation problem and verify parameter settings.
9. Processing the measurements obtained from drive tests in order to create the Network Coverage and Quality Reports.
10. Monitor & analyze the R99/HSPA Radio Network Statistics on daily basis..
1. Responsible for the drive test analysis and taking the necessary action to improve call drops, pilot pollution, Ec/No, Soft handover performance. Responsible for the optimization of UTRAN: CS, PS and HSDPA services (HSDPA code resource distribution, configuration of HS-PDSCH codes according to traffic model, protection timer for HSDPA when moving, configuration of maximum HSDPA users per cell and Node-B).
2. Responsible of data analysis on problematic areas such as call drops, missing neighbor analysis and call setup failure by analyzing layer messages (AS and NAS messages) on drive test log files and RNC trace log files to improve network performance.
1. Perform MML (Man machine language)commands in order to configure all the changes recommendations in the RNC.
2. Updating Stats tool(Microsoft access) on daily basis,Preparing macros and running them.
3. Daily surveillance of KPI's statistic from the OSS (M2000), giving the necessary change recommendations on each weekly report. Check counters that involve all the interfaces of the UTRAN (Uu, Iub, Iu-cs,IuR and Iu-ps). Analyze congestion situations (channel elements, transmission resources, etc).
4. Responsible for reducing congestion and drops, improving the IRAT Handover, Soft Handover, Location Update, Paging, CSSR, RRC Connection & RAB Establishment Success rate in his designated area for all Voice, Video Packet & High Speed, issuing capacity requests whenever needed
5. Optimizing the site such as adding and deleting the neighbour making MML script, making the SAR (SITE ACTIVATION REPORT) for the new site coming in the cluster preparing Intra neighbour (3G->3G), Inter neighbour (3G->3G), Inter-Rat_neigh (2G->3G), Inter-Rat_neigh (3G->2G) list.
6. Defining, auditing and monitoring parameter consistency check rules in order to Maintain RNC parameter database consistent internally and implemented according to the RNC default parameters or planned specific parameters.
7. Checking and monitoring the status of RNC and Node B’s, main alarms to be monitored regarding the indicators to be improved.
8. Analysis of call procedure and layer 3 message of IMSI trace using BSC 6800.
Responsibilities as 3G Drivetest Engineer and Field Optimizer
1. Taking Cluster tests using TEMS 10.0.5 & Drive test analysis and statistics analysis 3G KPI(RRC sucess rate,RAB success rate, DCR cell,SHO added success rate)
2. Preparing digital maps using GoogleMaps, GoogleEarth, Mapinfo and the other necessary programs & Preparing cluster routes for cities using MapInfo for Cluster tests & Preparing Cluster Optimization Report
3. Analyze drive test problems for the whole network and determine if drop call caused by poor RSCP and Ec/Io coverage, RF interference, pilot pollution, missing neighbour, over shoot, poor power control, site addition recommended if necessary etc.
4. Preparing Acceptance Optimization Reports(Checking KPIs, R99 DL and R99 UL throughputs, HSDPA and HSUPA throughputs session by session).
5. Analyzed log-files and generated report using MapInfo which contains mainly
a Plot of RSCP, EC/IO,QPSK Modulation Rate, Physical Served through put, CQI . Median, 16 QAM Modulation rate and 64 QAM Modulation rate.

1. Analysis of drive test data & finding problems like call drop, block call, C/A, C/I handover failure and taking corrective action & giving recommendation like change in freq planning, BSIC, addition of neighbour, giving tilt
2. Drive test analysis and statistics analysis 2G KPI (HOSR, TCH Congestion Rate, TCH Call Drop Rate, SDCCH Congestion Rate, SDCCH Call Drop Rate, Rx Qual).
3. Understand to do analyze & optimize of cell has high handover failure and dropped calls due to RF issues, congestion issues, Co &adjacent interference problem, high HO failure problem, overshooting TA.
4. To Look ND Reports Related to Handover Fail, SD Issues, TCH Congestion and Call Drop Analysis.
5. Analysis of Layer 3 Messages such as Measurement report, BCCH Index, System Information type & Handover Command
6. To look for issues like overshooting and to recommend to give down tilt or to reduce the height of GSM Antenna for proper coverage.
7. Monitor, analyze & optimize the GSM/DCS radio network performance statistics on hourly, daily and weekly basis.
8. Response to NSN complaints in high Drop call area, high blocked call, high HO.
9. Understand technically to do parameter tuning.
10. To Recommend HO_Margin and PBGT Margin For Following Handover Failure and Call Drop Issues For Inteference,Quality,Level Threshold and Also For TA and Umbrella Handover Depending on Scenario.
