team for a variety of projects, Liaised with developers, contractors, and
government agencies. Projects are:
. Bund Cradle project, with concrete diaphragm wall of 18m deep, for three
level underground parking structures. Implemented soil grouting
treatment for improved wall performance. 7 storey steel reinforced
concrete frame, with long cantilever. Was involved in scheme decision,
model calculation and drawing production.
. Lujiazui project in Tianjin, 2 storey steel linkway building above
grade, reviewed drawings.
. Chixi Central Business District, plot 5# and plot 7#, including two
level underground basement of flat slab with drop panel, uplift-
resisting piles, foundation mat with pile cap, slab of long span for 12m
wide driveway, floor with beams and lateral system of shearwalls of 35
storey. Was responsible for model calculation and drawing production.

. The National Art Gallery, Singapore, A modification and expansion
project on an existing masonry historical building, including a roof
structure of two-way Vierendeel truss pre-tensioned and supported on
branched tube structures. The technical submission included design

. Jeddah International Airport, International and domestic terminals,
Saudi Arabia, Calculated lateral and gravity load of International Hub,
recommended strengthening of connections and modification for the space

bracings, Designed suspended slabs, steel structure and decks. Designed
vertical members including columns, walls and foundation pads. Inspected
concrete and steel construction.
. Developed detailed design of Invue, a 13-storey residential-cum-
commercial development. Used ETABS to calculate shear-walls. Used SAFE
to calculate transfer slab. Designed lateral resisting systems including
shear-walls and core walls. Designed suspended slabs including typical
slab with in-slab ventilation ducts. Designed vertical members and pool
structure on roof-top. Performed field reviews.
. Participated in design of UBC Okanagan campus Management and Engineering
Building, of 210,000 ft2. Designed concrete core lateral resisting
system, Participated in design of floor beam, composite steel beams, and
roof diaphragm. Designed foundations for overturning moments.
. Developed detailed design for Penticton Lakeshore Casino expansion, of 2-
storey structure with suspended slab and steel deck roof. Calculated
skewed moment-frame structure and steel bracing for lateral resisting

. Performed conceptual review of Still Pond project, a 70,000ft2 condo
project with one storey underground parking and four storey wood

. Labuan 2*400MW CFB boiler support structure (Indonesia), centrically
braced frame structure, 56.5m high, used UBC-97 to determine wind load
and seismic load, Used AISC allowable stress method to perform
calculation of members including girder beams.
. Guangzhou New Baiyun Conference Center, concrete shear-wall and braced
frame, 21,000m2, performed analysis of overall structure and various
parts including stage roof truss, stage transfer platform, sound bridge,
stairs, etc.
. Alumar 2*300MW CFB boiler Support Structure (Brazil), centrically braced
frame structure, 48.5 m high, Adjusted location of vertical bracings to
optimize performance, used AISC LRFD to design.
. YanTai Exhibition Center, 30.5m height space truss structure with HSS
sections, performed analysis and modified structure in order to control
lateral deflection.
. Guangzhou Opera Theatre, performed overall structure analysis as well as
calculation for box beam members. Performed ANSYS analysis for cast-
steel joints.
. Involved in activities of a technical committee, for evaluation of
technical solutions and review of calculations, models and drawings.
. As a project manager for Alumar project, managed liaisons and drawing
production.
. Seconded to Shanghai Matshuo, a Japanese steel fabrication company in
Shanghai. Performed connection calculation for boiler support structure
for a recovery boiler for Amkhulu project for Austin Energy and

. Developed detailed design for about sixteen residential high-rise
projects. Shearwall- frame structure were used for these buildings
ranging from 12 to 35 story height, Designed H shape steel pile
foundations and pile caps.
. Designed various parking structures using pre-cast plank and cast-in-
place topping to form composite span structure, Designed grade-beams and
foundations with pre-cast piles.
. Constructed and modified models to perform analysis for lateral
resisting system and gravity frames. Checked member design against
BS8110.
. Prepared specification and detailed drawings for these projects, in
coordination with architectural department, Public Utility Board, Public
Work Board, and Singapore Telecom.
. Later in Pre-cast Technology Center, Participated in design and
improvement of concrete pre-cast members such as precast facades,
stairs, beams, precast planks and water-tanks. Led a team for a
constructability study on a pilot project of household civil defense
shelter unit, reported on finding, and modified original design for
higher site productivity.
. Prepared detailed drawing for pre-cast components, participated in
revision of architectural standard manual and structural standard
manual.

Two high-rise projects participated are:
. Hangzhou Government Project (HGP) comprises a 33-storey high-rise
building of core shearwall-moment frame system of 36000 m2, an
auditorium of 3000m2, a 2-level underground parking of 7200 m2, and
other annex buildings.
. ZhongXiang Plaza project (ZXP), a 22-storey building of 33000 m2 with
underground parking, underground civil defense shelter, and extended
podium.
. Drafted up a comprehensive plan including schedule, manpower,
construction methods, and equipment use for construction of the high-
rise building of HGP, Participated in drawing review;
. As a project coordinator in ZXP, was assigned additional duties such as
coordination with subcontractors and material suppliers, liaison with
design institutions, developer, and government agencies;
. The earth retaining structure of 8 m deep ZXP comprises bored piles,
capping beams, internal struts, jet grouting soil treatment and well-
points that were executed on silt soil;
. Taught a survey course for technical staff of the company;
