Since 2009 have served as Quality Manager representing Zachry in Central Texas

Highway Constructors, a joint venture with Ferrovial Agroman US constructing
SH 130 Sections 5 & 6. This project is a 42 mile new Highway through newly
acquired right-of-way from Mustang Ridge (Just south of Austin) to Seguin,
Texas. Supervised all QA/QC operations, with three to four levels of inspection
and testing for project in excess of $1 billion.
Responsible for assisting major highway (TxDot & NTTA) projects in North
Texas Area (North of Waco)
Develop Concrete batch designs for all classes of concrete used on projects from
our 4 batch plants. Particular attention was given to the most efficient use of
cementitious materials and pozzolans for economy, schedule, and sustainability.
Supervise submittal testing. Monitor performance of concrete from jobsite testing
from these plants.
Review and comment on concrete batch designs from vendors.
Assist Project managers regarding quality issues on projects as they arose.
Troubleshoot issues as needed. Normally able to assist resolving issue prior to
issue becoming a problem.
Reviewed plans and specifications for projects to be competitively bid for possible
competitive advantages/ warning signs to be reviewed by estimating team.
Assist estimating team develop sources for borrow/waste material for bidding
purposes based on particular needs for project being bid.
When necessary interfaced with owner’s representative and inspection team to
successfully help keep project running.

Provided customers technical assistance to provide economical and/or high
performance solutions as required.
Worked with customers quality control departments to provide state of the art
solutions to many demanding projects.
At customers request many times, represented customer in field during concrete
placements.
Worked in laboratory conditions to assist successful launch of several new
products. Methods utilized include slump, air content (gravimetric, volumetric, and
pressure method), compressive and flexural strength specimens, adiabatic thermal
signatures, and maturity methods among others.
Interfaced with customers, their clients and local inspection agencies as necessary.
1985-1997 Vector Engineering Testing Corporation. Wichita Falls, Texas. Vice President and

Helped form company in 1985. Was able to purchase, along with Partner, 40%
ownership in small Construction Materials Testing, Inspection and Geotechnical
Company.
Worked extensively with General Contractors on US COE projects at Sheppard
AFB, Texas. At one time in the early 1990’s we were working with about six
contractors on projects totaling in excess of $1 billion.
Other projects included schools, churches, and retail ranging from “strip centers” to
multiple story facilities to 500,000 sq. ft. facilities.
