QA Tester (September 2009 - July 2012)

This is the re-engineering of client server based application into web

based application. This will enable agents and employees to filter the

policies on various criteria and provide driver, vehicle, coverage and

payment information. The project management was done using Agile

methodology. QA had active participation in sprint iteration planning and

determining the level of complexity of stories & determining score.

Responsibilities:

. Involved in Requirement Gathering and Analysis, Writing Business

Requirement

. While designing and writing test cases, reviewed business requirement

document (BRD), and identified many gaps which would have later turned

into defects. I was recognized by both business and technical teams

for my thoroughness and attention to detail.

. Executed test scripts, save the screenshots of testing, log defects

and follow up them in Triage meetings

. Was able to detect some well hidden defects, determine the pattern of

their occurrence and helped development teams narrow down on the

problem with the code.

. Understood system flow diagrams and build test cases based on them.

Tested the UI against HTML injection and SQL injection.

QA Lead (January 2001 - January 2003)

Calculate time and cost of transactions in a payment clearing. It was a web

based payment clearing platform that was sold to many ecommerce companies.

. Provide time and cost estimate for transactions.

. Was responsible for analyzing application logs. I prototyped a log

analysis tool using Flex, a lexical parser. That prototype was later

turned into another project and served many purposes along with QA

process. It was later turned into a reporting the system to monitor

performance in the production system. The application logs were

sampled periodically and reports were generated. I am very proud of my

achievement during my stay in this company.

QA Analyst (July 1999 - January 2001)

In this organization I worked as junior QA analyst for several projects. We

had to turn over quality products to many customer applications and quality

assurance was paramount to this new startup company. Worked long hours and

worked on multiple projects at one time.

. Worked on a customer product for invoice payment systems, and played

critical role in delivering quality product on time. The product

allowed companies post their invoices to their customers online and

receive payments on those invoices. My responsibility was to ensure

user authorization and entitlement module, customer XML interface

server worked flawlessly and well within SLA limits.

. Was responsible for end-to-end testing of an E-mail application for

kids called Surf Monkey. The application had to be tested against all

available email servers and applications. The product had many

features with parental controls and mail alerts. Had to run over a

hundred test cases for each release, and had to repeat the test

against many email applications.

QA Environment: Managed defect tracking mainly using spreadsheets!

Application: Worked on many client-server and web based applications
