Performing iSeries Systems Administration tasks, as assigned, essential to
migrating existing systems (LPARs) from Columbus, OH facility, to new Data
Center facility in Kings Mountain, NC. This would include assisting and
verifying hardware installs within new data center. O/S 400 Upgrades
necessary to migrate existing LPARs to new LPARs running V7R1M0. Assisting
with loading and applying PTFs where necessary, to bring all LPARs to
consistent levels across the entire client portfolio. Assisting with
resolving day to day issues, as tickets and change requests are assigned
through HP Service Manager.

Managed all aspects of MidRange computing for Access Group Inc. - A leading
non-profit organization, providing Student Loan Assistance to individuals
seeking and/or enrolled within college Graduate Programs.
Upgraded IBM Models 525 and 550 AS/400s. Installed brand new M25 AS/400.
Migrated Production Operations to M25 while migrating 550 AS/400 to 570
AS/400.
Migrated Production Operations back to 570 AS/400 and converted M25 to H/A
AS/400 for Disaster Recovery.
Responsible for 10 LPARs which contained 3 Test Environments within each
LPAR.
Responsible for all iSeries Daily Operations for entire company.
Responsible for all MidRange software and hardware installs, including
O/S400, PTFs, and third party software.
Reason for leaving:
Board of Directors for Access Group voted to outsource all I/T Operations.
My services were retained to perform data migration to Out Source Vendor

Data Center Operations Manager (October 1999 - February 2006)
Manager for entire Data Center AS/400 Computer Operations, including
hardware/software installs and maintenance, job scheduling, data base
maintenance, disaster recovery, change management, and all daily computer
operations within the Corporate Office.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to, maintaining 2 Data Center

Summary of Duties and Qualifications as
Computer Operations Manager and/or Systems Administrator
Manage data processing operations to ensure accurate and timely information
to all user departments. Responsible for on-site preparation of system
hardware, designing, installing and maintaining a voice and data
communications network, and implementation of a disaster recovery system.
Work with the systems area to plan, configure, implement, and maintain
highly sophisticated programming systems requiring the highest degree of
knowledge and technical skills on all of the data processing equipment.
Ensure the smooth and continuous operations of the system and related
hardware to provide timely flow of reports to management.
Schedule, run, and print all company payroll. Ensure the highest degree of
confidentiality when processing and printing payroll. Work closely with
Accounting Department in resolving discrepancies. (Jennie-O Foods)
Communicate with all user departments to satisfy their report and
information needs.
Ensure proper back-up files are maintained on all company information to
safeguard the company's operating data.
Maintain software program libraries to ensure proper documentation and
usage. Responsible for end state, change management and program
implementation.
Work with Technical Services to configure, install test, and maintain the
operating system software on the AS/400 computers and large-scale servers.
Responsible for the configuration, and programming of many subsystems,
including the daily operation of the AS/400 System.
Work with NetWork Services to design, develop, install, and support
computer communications systems and networks.
Physical site planning and installation of hardware and hardware changes
for the AS/400 and PC and/or server systems for Primary Data Center and
Disaster Recovery Center.
Solve computer performance problems and all hardware problems including
peripheral equipment such as PC's, terminals, printers, etc.
Write special programs that require high technical competence. Implement
changes and/or additions. (RPGIII, RPGIV, CLP, QRY)
Aide the Vice President, Director of Operations and Technical Support in
evaluating technical advances in hardware and software.
Responsible for the correct and efficient operation of the AS/400 computer
hardware, data communications, and computer networking each day as well as
the testing, and implementation of software and hardware changes.
Works with Technical Services to plan, generate, install, and test
operating system software.
Work with Technical Services, NetWork Services, and Server Engineering to
design, develop, and install the data communication systems to connect
computers within the network. Have knowledge of the hardware components,
their set-up options, and the knowledge of all the software components, set-
up parameters, and control tables.
Responsible for the AS/400 recovery plans covering the mission critical
applications and data for Primary Data Center, as well as, the Disaster
Recovery Site.
Responsible to design, write, and implement highly technical programs
required for specific applications related to the operation of the
AS/400(s).
