Academic Project:

Title : Speed control of three phase induction motor by using Z-source inverter

Description : This project presents implementation of Z source inverter fed to three phase induction

motor drive system to vary the speed of three phase induction motor. Generally we have to vary voltage to

speed of the induction motor, there here by using power electronic circuit we vary the supply to the

induction motor. Generally power electronic circuit which vary supply voltage are CSI and VSI i.e.,

current source inverter and voltage source inverter, but in both the power electronic drives there some

drawbacks. To overcome the drawbacks of these both inverters a combined and more efficient inverter is

introduced to control the speed of the induction motor which is called as Z-source inverter, which is

nothing but parallel connection of inductors and anti-parallel connection of capacitors.
