Work-experience
* [2007-current] EMC Unified Storage Advanced Development
Built a lightweight dual-node load balancing support on CLARiiON. This helps block data services to be correctly load balanced. Recently filed a joint patent with a Senior Architect. The work involves hacking the full end-to-end block data services stack (built as layered Windows device-drivers).
Designed & developed a DART cache-driver to store file-system meta-data on EFD/Flash. It was developed in collaboration with Senior Architects (colleagues). We analyzed performance data and discussed issues in weekly status meetings. The final prototype improved overall file-server performance by 25-30%.
Designed & developed DART device-drivers for LSI-Logic and pvSCSI emulations on the ESX hypervisor. Its timely execution catalyzed the progress of key organization-wide projects in collaboration with VMware.
Designed & developed the complete device-driver architecture on DART for Intel-AHCI. This effort helped in reducing inventory cost by replacing expensive development hardware with cheaper desktops.
Other AD efforts included - 64-bit kernel tweaks to DART, performance engineering tasks such as: setting up hardware & software environments, test-automation, data analysis and code-tweaking.
* [2005-2007] EMC Symmetrix Engineering Automation Tools
Worked in a small fast-paced startup-like team that developed user-space open-systems applications in C, for the Symmetrix QA organization. We used SDLC and Six Sigma for quality-control, escalation and support.
Education
* [2003-2005 discontinued] Sc.D. in Computer Science [UMass. Lowell]
Diverse course-work included courses in education & learning.
* [2000-2003] M.S. in Computer Science [UMass. Lowell]
Courses/Projects include information-visualization, user/kernel development and networks.
* [1995-1999] B.E. in Computer Engineering [University of Mumbai]
Dual disciplines of Computer Science & Engineering.
