* When I began working on the ABC Disaster Recovery team, the process for preparing for each test was accomplished manually. It required 3 weeks preparation each month for our 9 1/2 hour monthly test. In 2 months' time, I was able to automate the entire preparation process freeing up the people to concentrate on other task.
* Automated Operations was a project to keep the weekly Mainframe Production outage to a minimum of 1 hour, implementing all the software changes that required an IPL. This was required so that the News clients could broadcast all of their shows live with up to date information. This was accomplished by using IBM tools to automate operator actions to most common responses.
* Chilton Research needed more computing power to handle new business. Their facility in PA did not have the processing power to handle their requirements. They looked towards ABC for the processing requirements to handle the workload. ABC was able to establish a CICS environment with enough capacity to handle their current workload, take on new clients and they were able to open 2 new survey centers with impacting ABC's workload.
