this is continued employment. Duties include Tier II support of Windows 2000,
2003 and 2008 servers, with some legacy NT boxes. Responsibilities include
troubleshooting problems with IIS, DNS, WINS, DHCP, TCP/IP, server
administration, Active Directory, SQL, Exchange and application support for
WebTrends, pcAnywhere
and Rockliffe. Build, configure, rack and cable
servers in the farm. Support of HA database clusters for SQL, Exchange, and
SharePoint; using either local external storage arrays (HP MSA1500/30) or
SANs (3Par & Clariions). Identify hardware failures and replace
CPUs, RAM and hard drives as needed. Supported virtual
machines using VMware on ESX servers. Add/remove servers from
Veritas NetBackup,
troubleshoot failed backups and performed restores. Server administration
in the farms was done via Citrix gateway servers using RSA authentication.
Other duties included doing scheduled maintenance of
upgrading hardware/software and patching servers, checking the servers
in the farm for any fault lights and investigating the cause of any outages.
This position was outsourced to
