Throughout my career I have been at the forefront of change in the companies I have

worked for. Many of the projects I have been involved with have had a IS/IT focus and I

have acquired specialist knowledge in that field. However, I also have great experience

managing both staff and coordinating peers in times of great change. As the company I

am working for is entering a period of greater stability, I am looking for another

challenge with new opportunities to learn as well as leverage my experience in

management, accounting and IS/IT.

Work Experience

Financial Manager

8/2003 - Present EF Education First, Lucerne, CH

Responsible for group accounting policy, coordination of group reporting schedule

and preparation of consolidated financial statements. Also responsible for

preparation of Swiss tax- and VAT returns. Experience managing projects involving

tax consultants and auditors. Manager of accounting department with 6 direct

reports. Held leading roles implementing several large changes, such as corporate

restructuring, a new purchase order system, a new banking system, a new chart of

account as well as a new consolidation system. Made significant improvements to

accuracy and timing of both internal- and external reporting during a time of double-

digit growth in the company.

Business Analyst

8/2000 - 8/2003 EF Education First, Cambridge, MA

Project Manager for implementation of a new accounting system (Coda)

responsible for evaluation, configuration, interface development, testing and

training. Experience working with IT consultants. Reporting directly to the CFO

while working with users as an internal consultant on all organizational levels finding

solutions to complex technical- and business issues. Additional management

experience gained from driving projects aimed at improving and developing new

accounting processes. Experience with cost analysis and other types of financial

analysis. Used SQL extensively for data mining and analysis.

Assistant Financial Manager

6/1999 - 8/2000 EF Education First, Amsterdam, NL

Worked closely with corporate controller performing financial closing routines and

G/L reconciliations. Experience from multiple currency accounting and group

consolidation using Hyperion Enterprise. Significantly improved efficiency and

accuracy of closing process by developing reconciliation tools with MS Access.

Reported directly to country manager. Tasks included invoicing, A/R, inventory and

pricing analysis. Joined as the company launched its business in Sweden and had

the opportunity to set up new processes and routines. Part time during semester

and full time during breaks.

Assisted engineers in the planning and design of industrial construction projects.

Main task technical drawing. Full time paid internship during school breaks.
