SUPERVISORY/LEADERSHIP

Oversee scheduling for two regions and supervise staff of MSS (Macy*s Scheduling and Staffing) Planners.

Review best scheduling practices with Staffing and Scheduling Planners.

Supervise the planning of weekly staff schedules in order to achieve planned staffing goals, productivity per hour and selling cost.

Assign miscellaneous tasks to office clerical workers in order to support Staffing Planners and Staffing Directors.

COMMUNICATIONS, COORDINATION AND TRAINING

Maintain scheduling and staffing functions for five stores in DelMarVa and Richmond Districts, including one of Virginia`s largest.

Collect weekly and monthly staffing hours plan and actual figures and distribute to Operations and Staffing District Managers.

Using Macy`s Scheduling Software, create weekly schedules, within Macy's standards, to allocate staffing requirements appropriately and accurately as they relate to sales events, volume trends, and store hours within each store and department.

Train new HR assistants and other store-line staff on staffing and scheduling requirements.

Provide continuous training and leadership to fellow Staffing Planners by: fielding inquiries, assisting Production Manager in day-to-day tasks, and applying other resources and acquired knowledge.

RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS

In conjunction with Operations Director, analyze store's schedules and assign contingent personnel based on the needs of the business and open shifts.

Complete a weekly expense report for each store to analyze hours utilization, actual sales, and payroll expense. Report is distributed to stores and regional executives and is used to plan future sales and staffing.

Create, maintain, and retrieve both hard-copy and electronic files of company and regional sales, staffing hours utilization, and other operations-related data.

Analyze sales events, volume trends, and customer traffic patterns using Macy`s Scheduling Software; create weekly schedules using this data with the goal of matching the associate with the customer.

Review current staffing and scheduling processes to uncover opportunities for improved efficiency, including schedule rotation, hours of operation and store staffing.

ADMINISTRATION

Conduct a variety of office management activities for the regional executive team, such as attending to telephones and callers, monitoring e-mail messages, maintaining calendars, and interfacing with walk-in visitors.

Draft and finalize correspondence, conforming to appropriate formats and styles, to ensure completeness and grammatical accuracy.

Create charts, tables, spreadsheets, and other briefing materials for presentations.

Provide administrative support store-wide by organizing, tabulating, reproducing, and assembling volumes of instructional workbooks, technical summaries and reports.
