In this section:
I
completed an M.A. in ESL from the University of Minnesota in June
of 1998.
While
at the U of M I took courses and completed extensive research on
the application of educational technology to the English language
curriculum. I am very comfortable with delivering online and
web-enhanced instruction and training for educators. I have
provided training on technology enhanced learning since
1997.
I
currently work as an Instructional Designer/Trainer for
Metropolitan State University. During the 2008 fiscal year I provided training and support
for more than 100 instructors and assisted with the design of 25
online courses.
From
1999 to 2007 I worked as an ESL and Educational
Technology Specialist and Online Training Developer for the
Minnesota Literacy Council training hundreds of educators
working with adult learners, immigrants and refugees.
Before
that I taught for many years at ESL programs at several
universities in the Twin Cities, such as Minneapolis Community
Technical College (MCTC) ESL program, the University of Minnesota
English Center (MEC) and the English Language Services (ELS)
program at Hamline University and the University of St.
Thomas.
