Summary

A National Leadership Award winning Manufacturing Supervisor

with more than 30 years of experience. Areas of expertise:

supervising multiple departments simultaneously, engineer and

develop equipment and procedures to improve safety and product quality, communications and public speaking.

Typical duties included: Direct and coordinate the activities

of union production employees in processing materials or

manufacturing products. Determine capabilities and capacities

for the department/s. Plan, prioritize, and establish the

sequence for production operations. Determine human resource

requirements. Train, observe, and motivate workers to ensure

compliance with both safety and production standards.

Analyze, reduce, and forecast product costs. Lead quality

improvement teams to revise standard operational practices.

Initiate personnel actions, and resolve worker grievances

or submit unsettled grievances to Human Resources Manager.

Highlights

* Organizational skills - Supervised up to 5 independent

departments containing over 50 direct report hourly employees.

* Strategic Thinker - Designed and built a winding

machine for the Bobbin Core Department that drastically

increased the accuracy of a special military application.

Later the design was incorporated into the standard winding

machine which improved the quality of the product and

increased the speed through the winding process by 50%.

* Production Procedures - Created a process to balance the

permeability versus temperature relationship of boxed ring cores

thus virtually eliminating electrical scrap.

* Engineering/project management experience - Engineered

and developed a process for manufacturing and proper longitudinal

magnetic annealing of Supermendur/Hyperco 50 alloy -E- cores.

This process virtually assured that 100% of cores manufactured

were shipped.

* Interpersonal skills - Led numerous plant wide safety

meetings. Had in excess of 50 public speaking engagements as

either a line officer or president of the Pennsylvania State

Bowling Association.
