2000 2012 Rotary Wing Avionics Mechanic and Transportation Coordinator

* Responsible for normal upkeep, preventive maintenance and pre-flight avionics inspections on 18 UH-60 Blackhawk, 24 AH-64 Apaches, and 18 CH-47 Chinook Helicopters.

* Performed quality assurance verification inspections on aircraft systems, components and maintenance personnel.

* Worked side by side with Boeing, DynCorp, and Lockheed Martin engineers on the introduction of the New AH-64A Apache Longbow Helicopters.

* Troubleshot equipment and traced avionics cryptographic equipment wiring harness using tactical manual and schematic drawings to diagnose and isolate faults for effective repairs during PHASE/RESET of 12 AH-64 Apache helicopters, all helicopters flew a discrepancy free first flight.

* Inspected, serviced, maintained, troubleshoot, and repaired avionics systems that performed communication, navigation, automatic flight controls functions, and Alternating Current/Direct

* Removed, serviced, and installed aircraft subsystem assemblies; prepared aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks; performed scheduled inspections; and inspected and repaired body, fuselage, landing gear, and other components required to keep the aircraft in top working order.

* Installed and installed aircraft subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components. Serviced and lubricated aircraft and subsystems.

* Ensured 100% equipment, mail, cargo and personnel were manifested, prepared for onward movement, and safety briefed before each flight to gain accountability and enhance safety procedures.

* Processed over 10,000 pieces of equipment in TCAIMS II to reduce equipment loss.

LEADERSHIP:

As a day shift supervisor I was responsible for motivating, mentoring, training, and counseling 18 junior personnel on the use of support equipment and airfield safety during combat operations. Solely responsible for storage, calibration and accountability of company`s COMSEC equipment valued at over $500,000. Oversaw and validated all HAZMAT being shipped and used during deployment. Aided in writing the Standard Operation Procedures used to ship HAZMAT.

PLANNING:

Planned and executed calendar phase inspections on 12 different AH-64 Apache helicopters. The planning and coordination involved talking to junior and senior personnel.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

Highly skilled at testing and troubleshooting aircraft systems down to a component using available schematics, technical data and test equipment.
