Profile
My professional career began in December of 1999 at Applied Systems. In September 2006 Applied Systems was sold with the exception of the division I worked in - Company Products - which was spun off to create Insuresoft.
Key accomplishments during my tenure under the Applied Systems umbrella included:
* Provided real-time support for the general ledger component of insurance agency management system WinTAM. Agencies supported varied from a single user to over 100 with varying levels of IT infrastructure and sophistication
* Worked as a business analyst and then project manager on insurance company policy admin system Diamond. My work focused on 3rd party integration work, helping to lay the groundwork for key underwriting integrations that have become ubiquitous at P&C insurance companies (tiering rates based on credit, motor vehicle and claims history reports, etc.)
I moved into a formal management role in approximately 2005. My noteworthy accomplishments include:
* Acting as both the project manager and administrative manager on our largest policy admin implementation. Under my direction at its peak, the project consisted of over 30 team leads, business analysts and developers reporting directly or indirectly to me and pulled in nearly $10 million a year in revenue. I also oversaw the migration of this project from a tiered system written in VB6 to an SOA system written in VB.NET.
* I played a major role in the first project we took on that included a rollout of commercial lines insurance as well as personal lines. On the way to a successful promotion of the implementation which opened a large new market sector for us, I played a key role in a decision to build out our own rating and printing solution versus collaborating with a more experienced commercial lines software vendor. This decision not only saved us significant performance and integration risks, but also nets us tremendous revenue with each new commercial line sale we make.
