Analyzed and debugged Short Message Service regarding User Interface and message trans-

mission.

Designed and implemented new services related with Short Message Service required by service

providers such as Voice Memo, VOD, and Multiple Message Transmission.

Co-worked with User Interface team and Call Processing team to debug critical bugs including

hang and reset bugs.

Ported MSM 6500 based Short Message Service source codes to MSM 7000.

Processed binary release for manufacturing.

Traveled to test roaming services.

Developed and maintained Billing System for SHINSEGI Telecom.

Adjusted and recovered customer database records and prevented customer complaints.

HTTPI

SELECTED

We designed and implemented HTTPI a transport protocol that is inexpensive to use and cache-

PROJECTS

friendly like HTTP and yet provides some security guarantees, mostly message integrity and server

authentication like HTTPS. HTTPI is implemented on Apache 2.2.11 and tested it with httperf over

100 Mbps and 1 Gbps Ethernet and showed through experiments that the throughput of HTTPI is

within 1.2 % from that of HTTP and 37 % better than that of HTTPS.

TLP

The current login protocol in HTTPS, namely TLS, cannot defend against Phishing and Pharming

attacks. Thus, we designed a new version of this protocol named TLP that can successfully defend

against these attacks. TLP allows each user to have exactly one password that the user can use

to log into many or all web sites. However, if the passwords are stolen, then the stored passwords

cannot be used in impersonating the user to any web site, nor can it be used in impersonating any

web site to the user. TLP is implemented with AES and SHA-1 using AJAX, Java Servlets, Firefox,

and Tomcat.

ABC2

We designed an interworking architecture between cellular networks and WLAN supporting large

ranges and high bandwidth. We envisioned the future network with mobile devices having multiple

network interfaces before the advent of iPhone and proposed to leverage cellular networks and WLAN

for multimedia networks. We showed the performance improvements through simulation.

OCSP

We implemented Online Certi cate Status Protocol (OCSP) for obtaining the revocation status of

X.509 digital certi cates. We developed OCSP client on Windows and OCSP responder with Apache

web server on Linux.
