Adobe fonts for Macintosh, Windows and Agfa platforms. Research expanding the capabilities of TrueType
typography. Technical liaison to contractors. Investigate web-based internet on-line font distribution and marketing
systems. Advise legal department on font pirating issues. Idea for reuse and expansion of an existing font as a multi-
language system font saved approximately $100,000 in development and localization costs.
Multilingual Font development and testing: Produce and test roman and non-roman alphabet fonts for:
MacOS operating systems (System 7 through OS8.6; domestic and localized versions);
In-house rapid-prototype applications;
Bundled applications (eWorld, QuickTime);
Shrink wrap products for retail sales (Apple Font Pack, Language Kits);
Specialize in one-time and unusual projects and fonts (i.e. dingbat, symbol fonts)
Technical Support: Set up, maintain and repair hardware, software, networks, servers for in-house use and
developer training events. Administrate local servers, archive and source control. Telephone technical support
problem solving and software debugging.
Training: Produce training materials for font designers and developer training events. Create and maintain
technical instructional material distributed through QA division. Present tools and teach students at developer
training events worldwide. Manage college computer labs; supervise student assistants; thesis advisor. Teach
college-level courses in Computer Graphics. Orient and train new employees.
Health & Safety: Volunteer Firefighter, Emergency Response Team Building Captain (Apple & Palm), Certified
Hazmat Specialist and medical First Responder; Ergonomics advisor, Health & Safety site inspector, Safety Committee
member. Confined space entry, air and water quality monitoring, lockout/tagout, etc.
