- Collaborated in conceptualization/design of various projects and produced AutoCAD bid and construction drawings.

development, interior design, bid drawings, corrections/revisions, and final CD drawings. Currently under construction.

Proposal for New Mammoth Mountain Full-Service Luxury Ski Resort, Mammoth, California
Client: Next Generation Creative Group, LLC
Following an earlier proposal by a well-established ski resort design
company that left them unimpressed, the management of Mammoth
Mountain turned to N.G.C. looking to explore more exotic possibilities
for what the Mammoth experience could become. Having visited the
mountain and with use of an already established space/function
criteria as a guide, we were set loose with instructions to propose
whatever we saw best fit for the mountain experience at Mammoth,
my role being to give shape to and develop a concept for the new
resort site and buildings. Our goal for the concept was to create a
signature architectural aesthetic encompassing the essence of a
mountain lodge in an enlivening modern format that would become a
world icon able to attract visitors not only in the ski season, but year-
round. Designed entirely around the ski experience and wrapped into
one massive resort building, the new resort would boast an
innovative ski facility on its lower concourse, restaurants, a themed
indoor waterpark overlooking the slopes, and a spa on an upper
concourse, conference facilities, and a combination of guest rooms
and private residences, among other attractions. Mammoth
Mountain is currently working-out land issues and looking to secure
financing prior to the commencement of further design development.
Babyboss Beijing, China
Client: Solberg+Associates
Babyboss is brand of simulation city environments currently expanding in China. Designed to allow children to explore the many
occupations available to them, they incorporate role playing and games in a large space made to resemble a small city, complete
with restaurants, manufacturing, banks, theaters, entertainment, and all of the aspects of civilization we are accustomed to.
Solberg+Associates was asked to create a new Babyboss in an existing space in Beijing offering 3,550 square meters and an eight
meter height, permitting the creation of a mezzanine. After the initial layout and general appearances were created, my job was to
insert the concept into CAD and develop the design, ironing-out any issues and turning rough drawings into a finished design. This
work included floor plans, reflected ceilings, miniature building facades up 8 meters tall, and basic interiors for each building space.

Floraland Phase II, Chengdu, China
Client: Solberg+Associates / Landmark Entertainment Group
Solberg+Associates contracted with Landmark Entertainment to do the architectural design and
planning for Floraland Phase II, a massive development including a theme park, a water park, and
one million square meters of retail, dining, entertainment, and residential space. With my first
role in the project being to design the parking lots for the development, I later contributed in
design and layout throughout the project. To do the extensive drafting work required by the scale
of the project, Solberg+Associates teamed with Thelma & Boom, at which time I also developed
the AutoCAD lineweight and layer standards used by our office and that of Thelma & Boom
(located in Mexico), greatly improving drawing readability and consistency.
New Maercker Elementary School, Westmont, Illinois
Employer: Ruck/Pate Architecture
On my first day of my first professional architecture job, I was asked to develop
concepts for the facades of a new three-story school called Maercker
Elementary. Though I had known I was hired for my design abilities, I was sure
that I must have misunderstood something. This was a highly talented,
respected architecture firm and they didn t need a kid to design their building
facades. After a few days had passed, I was asked to present my concept
studies, and sure enough, not only was that in fact what I was supposed to have
done, but they were very pleased and chose one of my concepts to be developed,
even incorporating my suggestion of high ceilings in the entry corridor to allow for
a band of high windows. From there, I then developed the design through hand-
drafted drawings, as the floor plans were finalized. My final drawings were used
in the construction set and the design was built, but for a couple changes after I
had finished for the summer. I also assisted in various other aspects of the
design process for the project, having much gratitude for my mentors for the
role I was asked to play. Construction was on-time and under budget.

New St. Michael Church, Wheaton, Illinois
Employer: Ruck/Pate Architecture
Returning to Ruck/Pate for a third summer internship, I was asked to take the lead in transferring a 3D
model created in Sketch-Up into CAD elevation and design detail drawings. I proceeded from the
framework that had been started and created fully-detailed interior and exterior elevation drawings for the
church. In that the tabernacle and chapel areas at the front of the Sanctuary had not been developed in
the model, I was asked to finish them, creating complementary designs for two glass panels and three rod
iron gates. Finding discrepancies in the design that had yet to be resolved, I was also asked to analyze all
the existing bid drawings to find any other issues that were in need of resolution.
Walt Disney s Sleeping Beauty Stage Production, Cary, Illinois
Project Team: Cary-Grove High School Stage Crafters & CG Stage Entertainment
Having developed our skills in the production of previous stage shows, two high school friends and I teamed up to put Walt Disney s
version of Sleeping Beauty on stage for the first time. After successfully pitching the idea to our sponsor by way of acted scenes
and numerous concept sketches, we went ahead to get the rights from Disney and a year later were co-producing the show. As the
production designer and charge scenic artist, I was responsible for the set designs, created a set of construction drawings for the
show, assisted with construction of the various set components, and painted a 16x40 ft. forest glen mural in the style of the film.
The McClurg Hotel (-Collegiate Conceptual Study for Chicago, Illinois-)
Developed Under Prof. Chris Karidis while at Illinois Institute of Technology
Being fortunate enough to make it into Chris
Karidis s hotel design studio while at IIT, I
decided to create a hotel that would offer all
that existing Chicago hotels did not. Sized for
an existing vacant site located between two
of the city s entertainment districts, it would
be comprised of circular geometry rather
than square, it would be designed for families
as opposed to the business class, and it
would incorporate voluminous public atrium
spaces to contribute to the urban fabric,
providing restaurants, occasional live music,
and serpentine swimming pools (for hotel
guests) all within a lounge-like atmosphere
of lush plantings and vibrant color.
