I am a graduate of Michigan State University s College of Education with a major in
Elementary Education and teaching minors in mathematics and geography. I am certified to teach
kindergarten through fifth all subject areas and sixth through eighth self-contained mathematics.
With a desire to provide all students with an excellent education and passion for learning I would
like to become apart or your education team. I am confident in my ability that I will be a valuable
asset to your school district.
As a graduate of Michigan State University s five year teacher preparation program, I have
been given teaching experience and the knowledge necessary to be confident in an educational
setting. I recently completed a full year teaching internship in a sixth grade classroom. I
participated in co-planning and co-teaching with my collaborating teacher, independently
researched and created lesson plans and units, participated in lesson studies with colleagues, and
performed all responsibilities during my six week lead teaching experience. My teacher
responsibilities included: designing and implementing units in all subject areas, recording student
progress regularly, leading parent-teacher conferences, creating and updating a classroom website
to enhance communication between students, parents, and mentors, and maintaining classroom
management. I incorporated subject matter through technology often, which aided in
differentiating the curriculum and made it meaningful for the students. Throughout my internship
year, I was able to assemble and manage a productive learning environment that supported my
class of diverse students.
I feel my education and varied practical experiences as well as my enthusiasm for teaching
make me a worthwhile addition as an educator and mentor in your community and district. If
becoming a part of your team is in the future, I would like to offer my athletic knowledge and skills
as a coach in the community and my time for any other extracurricular activities available. Please
