OBJECTIVE:

A contract or a direct position which is managerial and hands-on. Very challenging positions, such as a turn-around managerial position, will also be entertained.

I enjoy working with a small team (or even by myself) on difficult projects. I have in the past been given control of projects

with unhappy customers that were behind schedule and over budget. I successfully brought those projects to conclusion

within schedule and budget while also turning around the relationship with the customer. Turning around

projects and companies is something that I find both challenging and rewarding.

November 2002 – September 2005 (3 separate actual hirings); Supervisor: Gil Anderson 248-960-2765As a manager I was responsible for coordinating the efforts of up to 10 people.Made numerous presentations to FAA representatives.Provided support for the development of numerous documents and presentations leading to FAA certification of jet engine control software. This required extensive use of DO-178B and related standards / guidelines.Performed Structured Analysis for real-time jet engine control systems (FADECs).Software Development using C++, GreenHills C, FORTRAN, MatrixX, and Cantata.Software Requirements Analysis and Definition (SRS requirements) utilizing TeamWork and FrameMaker.Performed analysis of electrical schematics to design Built In Test (BIT) operability.Provided support for Failure Mode Effect Cause Analysis (FMECA) using DO-178B.Helped develop the Detailed Testability Analysis Report (DTAR).

August 1998 – September 2000; Supervisor: Lonnie Au, (260) 429-5924Real-Time Embedded Ada code and unit test of radio software for the Tactical Tomahawk Program.Code developed using Rational Ada on UNIX for embedded use on an 80386 based processor.Similar job as when the company was called Magnavox (see below) with more managerial responsibilities.Radio code included DAMA (Mil-Std-188), SATCOM (dedicated DAMA), SINCGARS, and COMSEC satellite modems.

July 1996 - August 1998; Supervisor: Greg Carthan, (219) 429-5924Real-Time Embedded C code and unit test of Newspaper Printing Press control systems.Code developed in C and Oracle for VMS platforms.(3 months) Worked on-site in Queens, NY for New York Times developing system for new color presses.

Magnavox Electronic Systems Company : (Contract) Senior Software Engineer

February 1995 – July 1996; Supervisor: Robert Christian, (260) 429-7256Team Lead in charge of human interface design, development, and implementation.Build Manager responsible for coordinating software configuration Engineering builds.Real-Time Embedded Ada code and unit test of radio software for the EMUT (Spitfire) multi-mode digital voice/data radio.Code developed using DDCI Ada on VAX VMS for embedded use on 8680 (C&Ts 8086) based processor.

Northrop - Grumman - Electronic Systems Division : (Contract) Senior Software Engineer

October 1994 - February 1995; Supervisor: Miles Wrigley, (708) 259-9600Ada & C code and unit test of Mission Planning Software for the TSSAM using VAX VMS and Sun UNIX in accordance with Mil. Std. 2167A.Responsible for development and maintenance of productivity tools using C-Shell and DCL.

Magnavox Electronic Systems Company : Senior Software Engineer

December 1991 - October 1994; Supervisor: Paul Skelton (260) 429-4167Technical Lead responsible for the maintenance of Ada software on a Rational system using Mil Std 2167A. The effort involved porting Ada to Risc and 80486 processors running HP-UX and SCO UNIX (Alsys and Verdix Ada compilers).Technical Lead responsible for the incorporation and development of software for the display and maintenance of Electronic Map Imagery (EMAP) using X Windows, Motif, and Object Oriented Design. Some C programming and UNIX Shell scripts were developed in addition to Ada.

McDonnell-Douglas Missile Systems Company : Senior Engineer Electronics

July 1989 - December 1991; Supervisor: David Corman (314) 233-9807Performed code & unit test of Mission Planning (TAMPS) software using Ada on VMS. OOD, Mil. Std 2167A.Responsible for on-site software installations including modifications to user accounts and system parameters. Extensive contact with customer representatives. Projects requiring government "black" security clearances. Developed code that included Digital Terrain Elevation Data (DTED), Route & Threat Analysis, Database design and implementation.
