ACHIEVEMENTS

Information Technology/Network Systems

Designed and installed a network system capable of processing an increasing level of daily transactions received by the Atlanta data center for a Georgia multinational credit card payment processing service. Evaluated existing computer network, defined the existing backlog of transaction and operating issues, recommended and designed a new system replacing Ethernet technology with a modular networking system using TCP/IP protocol, purchased and installed hardware, and introduced process changes. The new system increased transaction processing capabilities from 140 transactions per second to over 750 transactions per second, and led to a network capable of processing up to 1500 transactions per second over a six year period.

Led a program creating a WAN distributed system connecting nine data centers and over 100 offices nationally for a Georgia multinational credit card payment processing service. Reviewed data center operations in Dallas and Vancouver, developed a design configuration for transferring and processing data received from remote offices to Atlanta data center, and led the design implementation program. Organized and directed development teams in nine office sites creating a distributed network system for processing credit card and healthcare charges received from customer accounts seven days per week, 24 hours per day.

Managed a project designing computer based network systems for the financial services subsidiaries of a Georgia based holding company. Collaborated on corporate and subsidiary communications requirements, presented a business case to expand corporate communications connecting subsidiary offices, designed network configurations, and directed system installations. Developed network services connecting holding company offices with 14 U.S. and 22 international operating offices of four financial subsidiaries, including accounting systems, internet and intranet systems and e-mail access for over 2000 employees.

Directed a program improving operations of the computer services configuration, design and Network Operations Center (NOC) for a Norcross, Georgia based third party network services company. Reviewed work processes, redesigned and communicated a new process for working tickets, established work standards, developed a new scheduling system for network engineers, develop a system to receive payment for expedited work projects, and developed management reports and controls. Actions taken led to a 100% increase in NOC Center productivity, and together with other changes contributed to increasing annual revenues from $25 million to $40 million annually.

Designed and managed the set-up of a new data center in St. Louis to service a business unit purchased from Master Card by a Georgia based multinational credit card payment processing service. Collaborated on details of business acquisition and processing requirements, designed computer and telephone systems, directed purchase and installation of a Sun Solaris/UNIX system and engineered electronic and paper reports. The new data processing center was installed with a budget of appoxixmately$400,000 and was completed on schedule.

Project and Program Management

Managed a project moving data center operations to a more secure facility as a step in enhancing business continuity for a Norcross based third party network services company. Evaluated and recommended movement of data center to a more secure facility, assessed and recommended Suwanee location, directed facility buildout, and managed the movement and commissioning of network systems. The data center was moved seamlessly with over 100 customers and 6000 managed customer interfaces without a single customer complaint.

Conducted planning meetings coordinating new customer requirements for a Norcross, Georgia based third party network services company. Scheduled team meetings to discuss new account requirements, established procedures for receiving and processing data, designed customer reporting, and developed operating procedures for resolving problem issues. Team meetings were held by conference call each week to initiate two to five new customer accounts, which included account managers, sales engineers, project managers, and NOC management.

Organized and directed a project relocating the computer network services of a Bond Trading company for an Atlanta based engineering network services company. Collaborated on project requirements, developed design of new network system, scheduled movement and installation of hardware, and installed operating systems. The movement of 6 servers, 70 PCs, and printers was completed during a 24-hour period to the customer satisfaction.

Contracted to design and install photo identification systems for a Georgia based computer services company. Identified and negotiated contract requirements, designed digital printing systems, managed photo I.D. system installations, and trained client staff on system operations. Over a seven year period sold and installed digital printing systems and readers for Georgia State Government, Colleges and Universities, and commercial clients.

Consulting/Problem Solving

Led the turnaround of a computer network system installation project contracted with the U.S. Army for an Atlanta based engineering network services company. Reviewed equipment installation and system failures, conducted root cause analysis, identified access constraint problem, and purchased and installed additional hardware. The system redesign was completed in a period of six weeks to the customer’s satisfaction avoiding a potential contract non performance lawsuit.

Provided troubleshooting services improving the New York State Instant Lottery system performance for an Atlanta based lottery game design and installation company. Collaborated on project goals, analyzed gaming operations, recommended changes in operating processes, and re-engineered system operations. Actions taken led to expanding New York State Instant Lottery game sales leading to an increase in revenues from $60 million per year to $240 million per year.
