Tasks include: experiment planning, mission synthesis, search for flight opportunities, support of development of various small satellite missions, support of orbiting experiment platforms.

Accomplishment Highlights:

CAE Department: Developed numerous design and analysis software tools in support of conceptual mechanical design group. Established corporate focal point for support of microcomputer users for CAE tasks. Developed local-area network for integrated CAE system, utilizing microcomputer and VAX-based hardware and software. Developed integrated CAE system for spacecraft conceptual design. Taught staff development courses on personal computer communications, and on integrated software.

DI Department: Assessed performance of various Space Shuttle mechanical subsystems as a part of a team tasked to evaluate the Shuttle's capability to meet Air Force needs. Formulated and developed design concepts for use in the Shuttle cargo bay. Served as member of a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Study Team which developed a corporate strategy for hardware and software acquisitions, and evaluated the relative merits of the products and services of various CAD vendors. Performed conceptual design of proposed Department of Defense spacecraft. Identified critical technologies involved in on-orbit service and maintenance of transportation vehicles for a proposed Solar Power System.
