I am responsible for managing IT Support for the Palantir Technologies Washington, D.C. office. The network consists of a mixed environtment of Windows, Mac, and Linux devices and servers, utilizing Active Directory. I am the primary Windows IT asset to the 100-120 users in the office. My duties range from troubleshooting desktop computers to creating users and mailing lists to building servers and performing technical evaluations of software and hardware solutions. I also act as the subject-matter expert for any and all Video Teleconferencing related projects within the company.

August 08-October 09, Lockheed Martin, Ft Belvoir, VA, Systems Administrator Sr.

I was responsible for building, managing, and maintaining Windows servers for the Joint Personnel Recovery Agency. This primarily consisted of Windows 2003 servers in an Active Directory Environment. I was tasked with the development and deployment of a Lumension PatchLink solution. My other responsibilities included troubleshooting network issues, creating users in Active Directory, managing Microsoft Exchange 2003, creating desktop/workstation images, creating and managing our WDS imaging system, managing our DNS system, and providing assistance to the Network and VTC teams as required. I was also responsible for configuring the organization s Outlook Web Access to support CAC (smart card) authentication.

I was responsible for building, managing, and maintaining Windows servers (both physical and virtual) for the Army Materiel Command Headquarters. This primarily consisted of Windows 2000 and 2003 servers, in an Active Directory Environment. I was tasked with the planning for and actual deployment of both CREDANT and MobileArmor data encryption products. My other responsibilities included activating/deactivating network ports, troubleshooting network issues, creating users in Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange (5.5) and Lotus Notes, deploying Antivirus software and patches to servers, running network security scans, and occasionally performing data forensics on computers. I was also been involved with the implementation of a SharePoint (2007) solution for the command and acted as the SharePoint Administrator, as well as the migration to Exchange 2003 from 5.5.

I was responsible for providing technical (IT) support to the customer at the Army Materiel Command Headquarters (approximately 1200 users). This primarily involved supporting the Microsoft Windows XP operating system, with key applications including Microsoft Office 2003, assorted Army web applications (primarily java-based), ScanSoft PaperPort, and Citrix. Most support was provided via the Computer Associates DSM application, and tickets are tracked using the Computer Associates USD web application. Support was also provided for a variety of hardware devices, including Blackberries, assorted Xerox printers, and Dell computers (desktops and laptops).

I was responsible for running the Video Teleconferencing systems for the Air Force Reserve (AF/RE) at the Pentagon. I was also responsible for the maintenance of the internal AF/RE website, as well as the Air Force Portal Page for the same group. This position entailed the extensive use of Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, Polycom Video Codecs, AMX Controllers, and other VTC and Web related equipment and software, including the DISA/DVSG scheduling software.

Aug 03-Jan 05, SYTEX, Inc., Ft. Belvoir, VA, VTC Engineer and Systems Administrator

I was responsible for assisting with building the Video Teleconferencing systems for the Army Materiel Command under contract by Sytex, Inc. I was also responsible for running the VTC helpdesk, managing and building the servers (running MeetingManager, Polycom PathNavigator, and Microsoft Site Server ILS Service), managing the Cisco IP/TV Systems and interoperating those with VBrick products, documenting equipment, running the AMX Systems, and helping to operate, repair, and maintain the Video Conferencing Systems throughout the command. I was also responsible for designing and implementing the system used for the Lights On Celebration at the command. I was responsible for the design and implementation of the HQAMC Desktop Video Teleconferencing System. I was also responsible for assisting in the engineering, development, and execution of the Live broadcast to the desktop of the HQAMC Change of Command Ceremony, involving the use of both cellular and satellite networks, Tandberg VTC Codecs, VBricks, and Cisco IP/TV Software.

Duties included web site authoring, maintenance, the creation of assorted graphics, and a variety of other web-related tasks. I was also periodically called upon to assist the Information Services Department in their endeavors with Linux servers and desktops, primarily for the purpose of SPAM prevention/filtering. Authoring was done using MicroSoft Windows systems, utilizing Macromedia DreamWeaver, Macromedia FireWorks, and Adobe Photoshop.

Duties included providing technical support for faculty and public access computers as well as setting up and configuring new desktops with hardware, software, and network settings. I was also responsible for running network cable through buildings, configuring Linux DNS servers, and assisting with various other networking and videoconferencing projects. I extensively used various Microsoft Windows operating Systems, and the Red Hat Linux Operating system for these projects. I also was occasionally called upon to assist the IT Department with the configurating and deployment of various H.323 based video conferencing systems, primarily using PictureTel hardware.
