o Responsible for integrated hull and propulsion system CFD analysis to evaluate the system drag,
confirm thrust performance, and wake region flow details
o Develop numerical model for the propulsor for integration in to hull CFD model
Mechanical Design and Analysis
o Conceptual design and selection of High Speed Generator cooling system for Naval vessels
o Detailed design of permanent magnet motor/generator cooling systems using various thermal
hydraulic methods from simple 1D nodal network analysis to detailed CFD analysis
o Ventilation analysis for propulsion gas turbine packages developed for DD(X) & LCS
o CFD methodology verification via test data comparisons on both GT packages and prototype
magnet motors
o Steam turbine casing and exhaust design for an industrial power turbine
o Thermal and mechanical analysis of the welding process for possible use on installation of a low
pressure steam turbine casing to condenser for CVN-21
Manufacturing Support
o Hands on work inserting magnetics into motors to keep critical path on schedule
o Supervision of CRAFT installation of magnet insertion into motor
o QCR response and resolution to out of specification manufacturing Quality issues
Computer Aided Engineering specialist

carbon dioxide intrusion after a carbon dioxide fire protection system activation using Proto-HVAC .
