Job History / Details:

I am a recent retiree from bank of america. I spent 26 yrs with the boa as a bank manager. I had the opportunity to manage the largest and most profitable branch in the south bay market, del amo branch. I managed del amo for four years. Prior to that assignment, I was a community manager in the city of Carson. That assignment required me to manage all three branches at the same time. I managed a total of eight branches with bank of america. I was a trainer with the bank for two years My job function required me to manage a portfolio that met my required goal and to increase my fair share of the market area. I made sure that my employees gave excellent customer service and stayed in the upper tier in customer service shops. i was a leader in getting the most from my staff. i was one manager that was able to get employees to the next level of management. We never failed to meet our quarterly and yearly goals.

Working as a training administrator was a tremendous help. I was able to put into practice what I was teaching others. The in branch training with associates was valuable. My on hands approach helped me when I went back into the brach to manage. My communication and people skills improved because of the close working relationship with the branch staffs. My self confidence was at an altime high with the seminars that I conducted. Those were take charge situations because the environment had you on stage with a captive audiance in a teaching mode.

The community manager's position further enhanced my ability to show leadership skills. The bank decided to do a pilot program where a group of chosen (best managers) would manager more than one branch at a given time. I had the opportunity to manager both branches in the carson market area and the harbor city market area. I was responsible for all three (3) markets. I made sure that I had the right associate fit to meet the needs of the diversity in all of the markets. I had to made sure that my associates were well trained in order to give the customer service needed. My administration and management skills improved tremendously. Training, raises, performance evaluations, team efforts, etc. were pronounced when your responsibilities are encompassed in three branches. I found the job to be simple because of my military background in training recruits in boot camp. Just another day at the office.

I am a team player that will work until the job is accomplished. The first thought is to make sure that your goals and all of your subordinates jobs are met. We all need to understand that we all know what that job is. My job as the manager was to manage goals short term. weekly, sometime bi-weekly one on ones needed to be done in order to let the staff know where they are and how hard they need to work to get to that ultimate goal. We would not leave any staff member behind. I new how important in was to each of them to get a quartly incentive check. That gave them the will and desire to be consistent and meet their goal each month.

I was known as one of the best managers at bank of america. The only reason was because I had the best trained staffs in the bank. Without a good staff, the manager is nothing.
