I was responsible for gathering AV materials and data on over 50 new performers to research their market potential within the Greater China pop and alternative music genres.

2000 – Project Manager – IMAR Films

Working with a team of 60 local employees, I planned and executed the integration of their existing film and music divisions with the incoming interactive division. This included choosing the right office building, installing multiple LANs, budget scheduling, getting government approval, redefining employee requirements and enforcing new security procedures.

1999 – 2000 Company: Ogilvy and Mather Advertising – China

Position: Technical Design Manager

My major focus was migrating existing web sites and web applications into the China market. This task included analyzing existing sites and producing quotes while balancing client needs with market costs. Ogilvy’s unique approach to 360-degree brand stewardship across various media meant strict and accurate deadlines had to be kept. I was charged with planning the execution and deployment of these sites to stay in synch with a variety of other media such as TV and print. Through my team’s hard work and dedication, we received Asia’s “Agency of the Year” for our IBM interactive campaign.

1998 – 1999 Company: Made For China

Position: Technical Design Manager

I was originally hired strictly for my print production skills in Quark, however the print workload eventually decreased as we became more focused on interactive media such as web casts, web sites and mass email applications. I handled many facets of creative, budgeting, producing and finally presenting various print and web promotions for our multinational clients. My final project was to plan, execute and document the migration and content upgrade of the IBM China website.

1996 – 1998 Company: Beijing Scene Publications

Position: Graphic Designer, Newspaper & Books

With a circulation of 120,000, I was responsible for the editing, layout and design of our weekly entertainment column. I was also responsible for taking the original black and white version and transforming it into a full-color edition. I documented all procedures into a ‘Use and Style’ guide for all employees of the paper. Each year we would write, layout and print an annual Tourist Guidebook with a follow-up Wine and Dine Guide for Beijing. I was responsible for several chapters in this 600 page, full-color book.

I was responsible for the coordination of academic and housing affairs for all CIEE students at Beijing University. I offered financial aid, career and academic counseling to the students and organized their internships with multi-nationals within the city.

As the front line of assistance in an ISP, I was also responsible for online queries that came through email as well.
