Hired as the Project Manager/Facility Manager for the Moses Lake, WA Advance Biofuels facility. My primary responsibility was to construct tank farm support to a small scale 1.5mgpy continuous production biodiesel skid. This project was partially funded through the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act and subject to all federal regulations. The project scale was quickly expanded from $1.2mil to $2.5mil, to include a Biofuel / Renewable Diesel operation with a Diesel/Biodiesel blending and load rack expecting 15 to 20 mgpy through put.
Managed all aspects of the project from designing with engineers, permitting with county, selection and purchase of all equipment and technology, sourcing and bid approval for all contractors, weekly construction meetings, county inspections, and was the construction superintendent as well.
Staffed plant to new production requirements capable of supplying 3mil plus gallons of bio-fuel for asphalt companies.
Created company-wide production and shipping documents as well as guided company paperwork flow.
Set up and purchased equipment for small scale laboratory capable of QA analysis for both biodiesel and advanced biofuels.
Implemented research and formulation strategies for new products and existing product improvements.

Westway Feed Products, LLC - (subsidiary of Westway Group, Inc.) Pasco, WA
Plant Manager of the Pasco WA facility starting October 2000. The facility served a customer radius of 300+ miles as a liquid feed supplement manufacturer for Ranches, Dairies, Feedlots, and Feed mills. Production capacity averaged 28000 - 35000 tons/yr of custom formulated products. This facility consistently had high quality ratings and a very good reputation in the region.
Responsibilities were Budget submission and control, Compliance, Quality Assurance, Inventory, State, Local, and Federal Regulation as well as Capital improvements and Logistics.
Promoted to manage the plant after only five months as a management trainee.
Increased production efficiency and reduced energy costs in almost every area of the facility. Examples: Compressed Air, Boiler Operations, Material Transfer, Rail and Truck Logistics, etc.
Golden Tank-Safety Terminal of the Year in 2003 - Given to one Westway plant in the country for superior safety compliance above and beyond expected requirements and other plants. Received Silver Tank status 10 out of 11 years as a plant manager.
Won the MAP (Manager Achievement Award) for a profitable, safe, quality driven plant that met all of Westway`s goals for five years.
Maintained a 90+% average QA audit score considered top quality status among other feed plants within Westway.
