* Stay at home mom. (04/08 - 02/06/10)
* Furniture Drafter/Engineer. Stone Creek Furniture, Phoenix AZ (02/08 - 04/08)
Stone Creek Furniture specializes in furniture built to order. This includes kitchens, bathrooms, entertainment centers, offices, bedrooms, and tables. I used Cabinet Vision 3D Modeling software, to detail designs that fit the customers' furniture needs. This included working closely with the mechanics, trimmers and sales, to provide solutions to issues that may arise. My other duties were to developing furniture documentation, maintain computer files, and to work on multiple projects.
* Engineering Drafter. Display Works, Inc. Phoenix, AZ (09/26/07 - 12/28/07)
Display Works specialized in custom retail fixtures and architectural millwork. My position involved using AutoCAD 2008lt to correct redlined drawings, design and draw new fixtures or millwork. From the drawings I created cut-lists and work orders for fabrication. Display Works is known as the "Jewelry Store Specialists." They build and ship custom display cases and millwork for jewelry stores around the United States. Display Works also builds cabinetry for most of the "Mark Taylor" apartments in Phoenix and Tucson. On December 28th, 2007 I was laid off, along with 5 other employees, due to lack of sales. Soon after, the company went bankrupt.
* Cabinet Designer and Drafter. Aspen Fine Woodworks, Poulsbo, WA (04/2003 - 08/2007)
(New owner and name for Apex Woodcraft) Besides my duties listed below, I also placed product and material orders, kept an organized filing system, researched new products, answered phone calls, created cultists and work orders, kept tract of inventory, checked product before delivery, acted as shop foreman and took control over the company while the owner was away. From January 2005 through July 2006 I worked from my home in Arizona, using the phone, fax and email to accomplish the work needed for Aspen. This shows that I am disciplined and able to meet deadlines. I have experience in training new designers and drafters.
* Cabinet Designer and Drafter. Apex Woodcraft, Poulsbo, WA (01/2001- 04/2003)
Apex Woodcraft specialized in custom residential and commercial cabinetry. My daily duties included extensive use of AutoCAD 2005lt and CabnetWare software to layout and design the cabinetry and millwork for each job. I would meet with Architects, builders and various clients. I would collect all their cabinetry needs, finalize the finished product and always meet the delivery date. I also created bid proposals, made site visits, and took field measurements.
* CAD Drafter. Mager Architects, Port Townsend, WA (01/2000-01/2001)
Mager Architects provided working drawings for custom homes, remodels and light commercial. I worked from my home and would meet with the owner once or twice a week to discuss our current projects. My daily responsibilities were turning Rod Mager's (owner and Architect) sketches into working drawings using FastCAD software, which is similar to AutoCAD. I was often asked for my ideas and input on design issues.
* Hand Drafter and Designer. Construction Development, Inc., Poulsbo, WA (1994-1999)
Construction Development is a custom home, multi-use and light commercial building contractor. I was the in-house designer and drafter for our family-owned custom construction company. I met with clients, made site visits, and produced hand drafted; working drawings that Construction Development, Inc. would then build from. I created plans for new construction, remodels and light commercial buildings, while attaining practical experience on the jobsite in foundation, framing, siding and finish work.
* Cabinet Designer. Independent Cabinets, Poulsbo, WA (1992-1999)
Independent Cabinets specialized in custom residential and commercial cabinetry. My daily duties included using CabnetWare software to design the cabinetry for each job, which our cabinet manufacturing facility would then build. I would meet with Architects, builders and clients then create bid proposals and invoices. I kept an organized filing system, answered phones and returned calls, had time cards ready for each pay period, made bank deposits, took field measurements, paid vendors, and made sure the home owners were 100% satisfied with our work. When slow, I helped out in the shop when needed for assembly, sanding, edge-banding, and hardware installation. I also drove the box van to pick up products, hand pick wood, deliver cabinets and collect final payments.
* Hand Drafter. Atelier Northwest, Bremerton, WA (1990-1991)
Atelier Northwest provided working drawings for custom homes and remodels. I performed freelance drafting for owner and Architect, David Grellier. I worked from my home using my hand drafting skills to turn his sketches into working drawings.
